He probably ate a bad hotdog.
Youre posting again? Welcome back!
Post hoc ergo propter hoc?
The sensationalism is this story is bad. GBS is a bad actor but can happen with any viral challenge or disease and generally resolves completely. The press forgot that little tidbit. More people will die unvaccinated from flu than will die from GBS. Chances are better than 98% this guy will have compete resplutoon of symptoms with the residual most often being mild numbness in the hands or feet. This article is great disservice.
Too bad they found out the hard way. Someone else just died recently from the flu shot. It was someone notable, but I can’t remember the name. But it was someone who was bragging about how great he was for getting the shot. And then it killed him.
Never had one in my life. Even back at grade school, my parents wrote the letter to the school admin to NOT give me the flu shot, with an “or else” clause. 4 of my classmates got sick within days, then those parents went ballistic at the school.
Info from CDC. A 1-2 in a million risk of this happening.
GBS and the link to flu vaccine
In 1976, there was a small increased risk of GBS after swine flu vaccination, which was a special flu vaccine for a potential pandemic strain of flu virus. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) conducted a scientific review of this issue in 2003 and found that people who received the 1976 swine flu vaccine had an increased risk for developing GBS. The increased risk was approximately one additional case of GBS for every 100,000 people who got the swine flu vaccine. Scientists have several theories about the cause, but the exact reason for this link remains unknown.
There have been several studies of the risk of GBS after flu vaccine and CDC monitors for GBS during each flu season. The data on an association between seasonal influenza vaccine and GBS have been variable from season-to-season. When there has been an increased risk, it has consistently been in the range of 1-2 additional GBS cases per million flu vaccine doses administered.
Studies suggest that it is more likely that a person will get GBS after getting the flu than after vaccination. It is important to keep in mind that severe illness and death are associated with flu, and getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent flu infection and its complications.
These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. In its most severe form Guillain-Barre syndrome is a medical emergency. Most people with the condition must be hospitalized to receive treatment.
The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown. But it is often preceded by an infectious illness such as a respiratory infection or the stomach flu
Never got a flu shot never will. This government ha I dont think so.
Never had one. Never will.
At least he won’t get sick.
So glad to have you back at FR!

Ask what country the vaccine was made in!
Then ask where your generics are made and what the fillers are.
But its like getting hit by lightning. Only a fool would conclude that walking outdoors is a mortal danger and resolve to stay inside for the rest of his life because he heard about somebody somewhere who got hit by lightning..
My grandmother got the flu shot years ago and it nearly killed her.
Anti-vaxers ecstatic.
Maybe it was the shush had the night before.
My grandmother got sick from it every year. I will not get one.
Could be coincidence or causation.
So lets be blunt: some people may have adverse responses to vaccines. But you want Polio back? Measels? Or maybe another Spanish Flu outbreak of the literally killed about a fourth of the population of the planet?
They diseases kill a LOT more people than the vaccines.
Oh wait, because of anti-vaccine nut jobs, Measels is actually making a comeback. Congratulations ya nut jobs. This outbreak will only kill about 0.1 percent of the population: about 700,000 people. Well done!
