We’re All Native Americans Now: Elizabeth Warren demonstrates the folly of identity politics
Wall Street Journal ^ | October 15, 2018 | The Editors

Posted on 10/16/2018 5:00:10 AM PDT by billorites

Any doubt that Elizabeth Warren plans to run for President ended Monday when the Massachusetts Senator released a DNA analysis indicating that she probably does have some trace of distant Native American ancestry.

The former Harvard professor went so far as to unveil a website and video featuring an analysis by Stanford professor Carlos Bustamante, who said that while Ms. Warren is mainly European she likely has some Native American ancestry “in the range of 6-10 generations ago.”

This makes her between 1/64th and 1/1024th Native American, which barely spares her the humiliation of not having any after she had listed herself as Native American on federal forms filed by Harvard and Penn law schools where she had worked. On the other hand, she also looks silly for making so much of so little. As Americans are learning as the costs of genetic testing fall, nearly all of us have multiple ethnic and racial backgrounds. Ms. Warren tried to make an identity politics virtue of a genetic banality.

Credit on this point goes to Donald Trump, who mocked Ms. Warren’s genetic boast and no doubt prompted her to get the truth out before the 2020 campaign begins. Ms. Warren now says Mr. Trump should make good on his boast to write a $1 million check to charity if Ms. Warren proved she had Native American blood.

Write the check, Donald. You’ll look gracious, and you’ll have an amusing talking point and photograph that will last the entire 2020 campaign.

A $976.56 check will cover 1/1024.

That’s the right way to do it. If Trump paid out the full million, Warren would declare that he admitted he was wrong, she was right, and he’s just a loser.

A check for $976.56 provides mockery and closes the door to more discussion.

So if it is a folly does that mean the WSJ is advocating for getting rid of groups like the Black & Hispanic Caucuses? How about AA studies? How about BLM etc etc?

We are all “Native American” if we were born here as US Citizens. The “Native American” term is racist PC crap that implies only American Indians are native. If we want to get technical, American Indians are aborigine. Australia calls their race of the earliest times that.

I detest the term native American, as it implies any one regardless of race does not belong here unless you are of the earliest race. It’s racist PC crap.

Sorry for the rant, I just hate this leftist PC crap.

She’s 99.9% not Mexican, Peruvian or Colombian. They did not have native American DNA for comparison.

(To be noted, Warren has also stated that her ggg-’paw paw’ was her indian ancestor.)

“lizabeth has stated that she was told by her family, that one of her maternal great-great-great-grandmothers, Neoma Sarah Smith (popularly known as O.C. Sarah Smith), was of Cherokee Native American background. She has also stated that she has some degree of Delaware Native American ancestry....Many of O.C. Sarah Smith’s ancestral lines have been traced to foreign-born (non-Native American) origins. To date, it appears that no genealogical evidence has been produced that Elizabeth Warren has Cherokee Native American ancestry.”

Giving people privileges because they can trace their lineage back to a certain specially-privileged group is unconstitutional and illegal. Any law that “permits” it is invalid and not binding.

Also, $hitting on certain people because they have a skin color commonly associated with some people, out of an extremely large group, who are said to have been slaveholders, is stupid and needs to stop.

All nasty schoolmarms have a common ancestor.

Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Dianne Feinstein, Sister Mary Elephant.

Trump didn’t make the offer that if she has one drop of Native American blood from 6 generations ago - He said if a DNA test proved she was “Indian”. The test didn’t come close to proving she was Indian. It proved just the opposite. Those of us who have not, and could not, benefit from Affirmative Action have more Indian blood than she does. (Not to mention that her drop of blood was not even from Native American Indians)

How can she be Cherokee if the “ comparable” DNA was from Mexican Peruvian and Colombian samples?
