Cardinal Burke: ‘Very Grave Problem of Homosexual Culture in the Church
Breitbart ^ | Nolte

Posted on 08/17/2018 8:40:24 AM PDT by wardaddy

Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for “open recognition” of the Catholic church’s homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse. “I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church,” Burke said in an interview Thursday, “especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously.”

he former head of the church’s equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already “clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men.”

“There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this,” he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

The anathemas of the Orthodox were mutually withdrawn in 1956.

The anathemas of the Protestants, by the way, still stand.

You just denied the scripture. What “honest” discussion?

You can “claim” whatever you want, but Protestantism clearly is not Catholic as defined by Trent. You are in heresy.

The belief that John 3, Mark 16, and in many other places is the belief that is tested by the works. That is where Matthew 25 comes in.

If you're explaining Scripture you're interpreting Scripture

The above, for example, is explanation. The idea that the believers are not going to be judged is an interpretation of one verse, that contradicts the rest of the Bible. Typical Protestant error.

I have no intention of waiting till the moment I die, to see if I make it to Heaven

That is gravely sinful. The sin is presumption of salvation. Think again.

am I disqualified because I left Roman Catholicism?

Yes. Of course you are. This is the reason I am here to correct plain error or to answer sincere questions, but I am not interested in what opinions non-Catholics might have.

“That is gravely sinful. The sin is presumption of salvation. Think again.”

God promises it.
I believe Him in faith.
He confirms in my Spirit and in His Word I am His.

To believe God is always right.

To reject the One payment He made for all sin in unbelief, is to decide you prefer hell.

“Yes, that is demolishing.”

..........

Then you may not know what demolish means.

You promised The Incredible Hulk.
You delivered Barney Fife.

All you posted was things you heard, your opinions, and some assertions.

Your gun is empty and there’s apparently not a bullet in your pocket...

Thank God!

It is Biblical and that is more than sufficient.

None of those is a sacrament and none conveys merit, nor grace.

At least you tried to post evidence this time. It doesn’t say what you claimed, but I do sincerely give you credit for an attempt!

Way to go! You’ll get there.

annalex: It is not contrary, since both canons essentially match.

Your statement, dude.

The two either match or they don't.

You guys use it as a slur. The term has its place.

Mind reading are you??

You did see the historical references I noted where YOUR denomination FRIST used the term Roman Catholic....right??

Nothing in this beautiful scripture teaches that we are saved by faith alone.

I understand now why ya'll aren't allowed to read the texts for yourselves.

Paul is crystal clear in the passage from Ephesians...and elsewhere there is NOTHING we can do to "earn" our salvation.

For by grace you have been saved through faith.

And this is not your own doing

; it is the gift of God,

not a result of works,

so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

That is gravely sinful. The sin is presumption of salvation. Think again.

Think again? ...... OK, I thought about it. In my interpretation, oops sorry, my explanation of scripture, I decided I would believe what God says, not what puny men say. I am going to Heaven, absolutely, positively, 💯% guaranteed, now and forever. I gladly commit the “sin of presumption” about 8,000 times a day, as I remind myself of my absolute assurance of salvation. If you have no assurance of salvation, there is about a 99% chance you may find yourself in the other place. 🔥 I can’t imagine why you might do that, but how do you think you might feel, knowing you will have to be in Heaven, squirming, while sitting right next to St Martin Luther. That would be a trip, wouldn’t it? 😁

Anyway, Boatbums, you are giving some good scripture interpretations, oops, sorry, explanations, even after you have been disqualified. Does that grab at your heart strings? 😆 Even though you have been disqualified, keep up the good interpretations, oops, sorry, explanations. You are doing a great job, as are all the true believers. 👍😇

Of course.

It depends on who's using it.

How PC of you all.

Oh boo hoo hoo, the Roman follower doesn’t like it when we take back the words that should never have belonged to the Vatican in the first place.

Let me play the world’s second saddest tune on the world’s second smallest violin.

All of it does and it could not be written any plainer.

If you don’t want to believe it, then that’s your problem.
