Cardinal Burke: ‘Very Grave Problem of Homosexual Culture in the Church
Breitbart ^ | Nolte

Posted on 08/17/2018 8:40:24 AM PDT by wardaddy

Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for “open recognition” of the Catholic church’s homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse. “I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church,” Burke said in an interview Thursday, “especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously.”

he former head of the church’s equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already “clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men.”

“There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this,” he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

Are you really ready to withstand correction or am I disqualified because I left Roman Catholicism?

Well, in my mind BB, you are eminently qualified to interpret, oops, sorry, explain scripture, especially the plan of salvation, which is by GRACE ONLY. I say again: GRACE ONLY. Now BB, I suspect that many Catholics (not all, of course) have already disqualified you, and especially all of us us ex Catholics. In their eyes, we are accused. That’s OK with me. I am not bothered by that, even in the slightest. 👍
Keep preaching, and interpreting, oops, sorry, explaining scripture. 😇

It is way past time for the church to abandon celibacy. This would soon eliminate 90% of the sodomy in the church.

Celibacy is not anything God ordained. It is a man-made rule within the church that is abhorrent to the laws of God.

You make Mary cry...

Yes, it probably does make the Catholic Mary cry. Now, the REAL Mary, as opposed to the Mary of the cults, is a woman, who was blessed among women, was a sinner, and had a bunch of children, after Jesus was born. In order for her to have a bunch of kids, she and Joseph had to do the evil deed (sexual relations) 🤣 Now, members of certain cults, may not like or acceept that, but that is not my problem. 😁👍

I tend to agree

The Orthodox seem good with it

I was in awe to learn about the Greek word used for "never" in John 10:28 when Jesus said He gives us eternal life and we shall never perish or be snatched from His hands.

and I give them life eternal, and never not shall they perish for the age, and never will seize anyone them out of the hand of me.

I've bolded the emphatic negation in John 10:28.

In Greek, οὐ μὴ is the strongest way to negate something. It is as emphatic of a negation as possible.

When I teach this verse I explain it something along the lines of "ain't no way this is going to happen".....bad grammar but sound theology!

My instructor in college explained it as a “triple negative”. He said the word meant “no, not, never, at any time, at any place, any purpose, whether male, female or even neuter, perpetually, eternally” perish. WHEW!

I remember, a time in the past (where else??), that saying stuff like this on FR would earn you a timeout - for varying lengths of time.

Well, they really did do the “evil deed.” That’s how they had all those children.

“Roman Catholic” is correct when referring to the Roman Rite liturgy or to the Church prior to the partial reunification with some Orthodox, when a variety of liturgical rites were absorbed into the Church.

the "Protestant" bible and the Vulgate essentially match

No, because of the Deuterocanonicals. 7 books.

Rebut what?

Ephesians 2:4-10 says that grace is not of works and that we are to do good works.

Rome’s anti-Apostle claim is that you are saved by works

There is no such claim. The Church teaches that we are saved by grace alone, but not by faith alone.

On “certain doctrines” the consent is indeed unanimous.

But Trent settled the canon in agreement with Hippo and Orange and contrary to Luther’s blasphemies.

No such sacrament in Scripture

Titus 1:5, Acts 8:18, 1 Timothy 4:14, 2 Timothy 1:6, Hebrews 6:2

Nothing in this beautiful scripture teaches that we are saved by faith alone.
