Is France Really an Ally of the United States?
The Gatestone Institute ^ | May 13, 2018 | Guy Millière

Posted on 05/13/2018 8:27:39 AM PDT by yoe

No-go zones are growing rapidly in the suburbs of all of France's main cities. Shanty towns built by illegal migrants from Africa and the Middle East have sprung up in parts of Marseilles and Paris in the last few years. Islamization is everywhere. In hundreds of mosques, imams deliver fiery anti-Western speeches. Churches are vandalized. The number of rapes is rapidly increasing. Groups of veiled women roam the streets and insult the "immodest", unveiled, women.

Macron's most important project since he was elected has been the creation of new Islamic institutions destined to adapt France to Islam -- not to adapt Islam to France. Many more mosques will be built, financed with taxpayer money; departments of Islamic culture will open in universities, and imam training centers created.

[snip] Sadly, it will also be difficult for President Macron, Prime Minister May and Chancellor Merkel to hide that they are appeasers of Islam and the weak commanders of countries they are allowing to decay.

I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. ;-)

The much publicized debate in Parliament was the final straw for me. How insulting and obnoxious, but we always come back for more so why not? There is no downside for them no matter what they throw at us.

They accept dictators and despots into that country without a blink of an eye, but our president must be the subject of debate on the world stage? Have they paid any price for that outrage? How can you accept that? How can you accept their arrogance?

You’re pointing out the UK government again, and I don’t disagree with you there. They’re doing everything possible to make the people pay for voting the “wrong” way in the EU exit referendum. Think of it as Obama’s third term being conducted overseas, and this in spite of the spiteful way Obama treated them, but then again, these Red Tories treat their own history in the same way.

There was a Vichy element, but France has been a side by side ally going back to the American Revolution. We have few allies; the real allies are the UK, France, Australia, Canada, and S. Korea. Several others are pretend allies in words only.

“Some call them yellow.”

Dumbasses do spread that same baloney around. The French fought hard and bitter in WWI, losing far more than the Brits about whom we hear endless stories of Flanders fields etc.
In WWII they also fought very hard and inflicted 27,074 dead 111,034 wounded, on the Germans.
In return they lost 360,000 dead and wounded and 4000 tanks.

The Brits fled the battlefield at Dunkirk. The Brits surrendered at Singapore to a Jap force that was one third their size.

French political leaders aren’t much. But the French soldier is and has been as good as any on earth.””

Agree. But, at times the Brits endured considerable destruction.

They didn’t treat Obama badly as a matter of fact I would say they fell to their knees just hearing his name. Prince William invited the Obama’s to their home, the Queen, as old as she is, raced to meet and greet Obama’s helicopter, something I have never seen her do for any American president, and last but not least Harry is throwing temper tantrums because his dear friend, BO isn’t invited to his wedding.

I was visiting Britain right around the time Obama was elected and the general consensus was that “finally the States have elected a real leader.” They thought Obama’s election a cause for celebration. When I said I didn’t feel that way I was booed for being a “racist.”

I have dealt with many brits, both in person in their country and in ours. I have held long conversations with them on their forums. Under a certain age, they are NOT pro-American.

Thank. You. Finally, the brutal truth is spoken.

The majority of the Brits have a virulent hatred of the US and they mock, ridicule and look down on us.

As for me, I despise them.

Nigel Farage is a minority.

The majority of the Brits hate Americans and would love to see us destroyed. They regard us as inferior to them in every way.

There is no “special relationship”. The UK and the rest of Western Europe can pound sand.

I still don’t buy that. If that were in any way true, there would have been no “Brexit” vote, much less a referendum in spite of Cameron’s promise to hold one—the fact that he was pressured to keep that promise says a lot.

The UK these days reminds me of California. A left-wing political upper class there holds on to power tenaciously, but there is an undercurrent of liberty-mindedness that’s ready to burst out.

Over there, over there,
Send the word, send the word over there
That the Yanks are coming, the Yanks are coming
The drums rum-tumming everywhere.
So prepare, say a prayer,
Send the word, send the word to beware –
We’ll be over, we’re coming over,
And we won’t come back till it’s over, over there.

If we ask is Europe a friend of Israel?
Definitely not! “”

Why would they be? Israel is no friend to anybody. Try immigrating there if you are not Middle East Jewish. .

Actually French special forces are outstanding soldiers. When the French police go after the muzzy murderers, they shoot to kill, and unlike in the US, the police don’t get prosecuted and accused by some blackrobed lawyer pimp.

I think many of us are nostalgic where the Brits are concerned and we have been conditioned to believe that no one in the world loves us as much as Britain does. Nothing could be further from the truth.

They do mock us and our country. They were especially nasty to Bush and his supporters. They think because we do not have universal healthcare for all we are a cruel and backward people and that there is no hope for us. I guess killing infants is enlightened. May we never leave the “darkness.”

So why is there still a NATO? Let Europe take care of itself. Their biggest problem is not Russia; it’s Islam. They are destroying themselves, so let’s keep out of it.

I would be in favor of disbanding NATO it has become unnecessary and we foot almost the whole bill. Enough of that! The EU leaders were getting ready to embarrass President Trump and pass a resolution condemning our embassy’s move to Jerusalem. Western Europe is NO friend of ours and dumping them is long overdue.

Well, France was pretty much the reason why America even exists as a country, and like it or not, the Brits did at least have some respect for us during World War II. Too bad they got taken over by leftists after the war (or in the case of France after World War I). And France, despite the reputation, is not cowardly (you don’t get that amount of land by being cowardly or weak).

I’m hesitant to drop Europe as our allies, mostly because I do still think it is our duty to STOP communism and especially Islam, and I doubt I can wait enough for a Charles Martel or even a Charlemagne to fix Europe and restore it to what it once was (if we abandon them to their fate... well, there won’t even BE a Europe, and Christianity will probably end up suffering vastly as a result, even more than right now). Besides, ultimately, it was our fault (or, more specifically, Woodrow Wilson’s fault) that Europe turned out as badly as it did. We gutted their monarchies, turned them into democracies, which led to them becoming extremely left-wing and arguably destroyed any semblance of Christian culture in them after World War I. And in the case of France, it was ultimately thanks to Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine’s promoting the godless Jacobins and, yes, even our founding father’s failure to actually defend King Louis XVI in exchange for helping us with our rebelling against England, that France is in the mess it is in right now. Until we actually fix Europe to the extent that it is Christendom again, that it actually CAN defend its borders, heck, even turn the entire Middle East barring Israel into either Christendom territory or otherwise into radioactive sand, we can’t abandon them. In fact, if I were president, I’d make SURE that it is made mandatory that Europe restore their monarchies and make sure Christianity is fully restored as the true religion of Europe. I’d prefer Catholicism across Europe, but I’ll settle for portions that are Protestant as a first step in the right direction. Oh, and just to prove my sincerity in wanting them to restore it, I’d also make darn sure I repeal the Treaty of Versailles, especially the whole “end monarchies” bit and make sure the monarchies of various European countries in World War I are restored. It’s not against American interests to restore monarchies, if anything, it’s actually for our best interests that monarchies are restored (besides, I only said that the monarchies of Europe be restored, I have zero plans to create a monarchy for America. I still intend to respect the Founding Fathers’ wishes on that front. That said, I might need to make sure the Constitution makes CLEAR we are a Christian nation).

In 2003 someone said "going to war without the French is like going deer-hunting without an accordion."

I believe it was Jed Babbin who said that.

Americans like to think we have a bond with Europe because so many of us see ourselves as English, Irish, German etc., they don’t see us that way.

I don’t see it that way either. I am German and Irish, and never set foot in either country, till 1980, when I went to Germany, while in the USAF. I came away more anti European than before.
I spent time in Turkey too. That place REALLY sucks. I also became very anti Turkey too. 👎
