I have observed that the NHS is almost like a “ god” to them. To criticize the NHS in any way is considered a sacrilege. Sick and disturbing, especially in light of the Alfie Evans murder. Yes, the NHS murdered that poor baby.
I completely agree with your assessment. If not having universal healthcare is cruel and backward, then I’m proud to be cruel and backward.
Why do you guys say “Europe” ignoring the fact that it is made up of different nations? Poland, hungary etc. don’t have Izlamization and we are against it. Would you say “NordeAmerica” to condemn all countries from Canada to Panama as one and the same?

My ethnicity is English, Irish and German, but like most of us we are American first and foremost. I was in love with Britain until I actually visited, and like you I came away with a very negative impression. Subsequent visits just increased my dislike and now I hold most of Western Europe in contempt.
I may be too suspicious, but I can’t help but feel that the celebration of the NHS during their Olympic opening ceremony was a poke in our eye as our government was trying to shove Obamacare on us and we were resisting.
I was in Britain a week before the Olympics and was excoriated for not supporting Obamacare.
The stories of Charlie Gard and Alfie Evans sickened me, but no more than some of the comments from the British after their deaths about how much better off they were dead. They are truly brainwashed and believe that their healthcare services are the best in the world when they are third world at best.
I only visited Italy, specifically Rome, and it was a fairly good place. Not much complaints or bashing of Americans, actually, barely any comment on America at all.
And quite frankly, I’m a bit too aware of the European bashing (My mom knew someone from her parish who had Greeks shun her for her American citizenship, and this was before the Greek financial meltdown). Unfortunately, I also know enough about history to realize that if we ditch them, it WILL turn out worse. Do I have to remind you of what happened to Vietnam after the Democrats sabotaged any attempts at providing aid to the South? I don’t want a repeat of that.
I might as well add that the person heading one of the tours in Italy, a Brit, was clearly anti-EU and pretty much a Brexit supporter before there was such a thing. This was back in 2009.
I have visited Rome, Florence, Venice, and I agree most Italians who I spoke with were friendly to indifferent, which was fine with me that’s all I expect.
I honestly don’t care what happens to Europe. They have created their own mess let them sort it out themselves.
Let me ask you something: Would you say that you don’t care about Europe’s future if, after Europe falls, Christianity is rendered completely extinct, and God ends up putting your feet to the fire and screaming at you for your failure because you failed to ensure his Christian Empire survived? I don’t know about you, but I intend to make SURE Christianity survives and that God had complete power over the world, and if that means defending Europe in spite of its populace bashing America, so be it.
You are not alone.
My friend, I know what you are saying, but I would ask you is Europe still Christian? I believe they are not. One of the things that the British find most repulsive about Americans is that the British believe we are all caricatures of the Bible thumping televangelist breathing hell fire to all who don’t believe what we believe.
We can’t save them from themselves that has to come from them. They have to find their own light we can’t provide it for them.

It’s strange, but I have more respect for the former Warsaw Pact countries of Eastern Europe, than for Western Europe.
Eastern Europeans spent a long time under the thumb of the Soviet Union. They value freedom because they had to fight for it.
We, the US, have spoiled western Europe and made them dependent. They are behaving very much like spoiled brats biting the hands that have fed them for so many decades.
I have always thought that much of the hatred of the US comes as a result of them becoming dependent and resenting us.
France sucks, sure.
But a son of France gave me the template of the future of Europe, 50 years before it happened.
Of course I reference Camp of the Saints.
Everyone should read it. It opened my eyes. My public library actually pulled, and I assume destroyed, that book later on.
So the vital question remains... if they get involved in a major conflict, do we intervene?
We aren't much different with our own massive immigration issue.
France will soon be a nuclear threat to the rest of Europe.
