“On the other hand, an ammunition depot of the invading forces has been destroyed.”
“On the the other hand” makes it sound like a setback for the SDF.

Bush and Obama should rot in Hell for what they have done to the Mideast. The foreign policy is disgusting and never had any national security implications.

Syria is not a sovereign nation but a UN fiction, a descendant empire of the British empire.
Kurds are the real sovereign there.

Bush and Obama should rot in Hell for what they have done to the Mideast. The foreign policy is disgusting and never had any national security implications.
They haven’t done crap. This charge is just the right taking over the BS far left narrative. The facade of stability was an overlay for large scale massacres. The Iran-Iraq War killed perhaps 1m people. That wasn’t Uncle Sam’s doing. Prior to the modern era, Arab rulers, ranging from the humblest sheikh to the loftiest caliph, traditionally engaged in warfare to (1) burn off the warlike impulses that might be turned against the ruling families and (2) acquire loot that might be distributed to the key retainers of the ruling families. Blocked off from expanding against anyone else by Uncle Sam’s and the USSR’s overwhelming firepower and their thumbs on the scale, the warlike factions within many Arab countries turned their aggressive impulses against the ruling families, many of which came tumbling down during the 20th century.
Iraq had no less than 4 regime changes before Saddam came to power. To direct the nation’s discontents away from him, Saddam started a war with Iran that might have killed 500K Iraqis. Then he killed 100K Kurds. Not content with the body count, he invaded Kuwait, killing 5000 Kuwaitis, and losing 25,000 Iraqi dead in the ensuing American counter-strike. He followed that up with the massacre of 100K Shiites after the 1991 Gulf War. This man was personally responsible for almost 700K dead Iraqis. But leftists, and some “right-wingers” will tell you that Iraq was a Garden of Eden prior to Saddam’s removal.
The real cause of our problems in Iraq after Saddam’s removal had nothing to do with Bush’s mishandling, and everything to do with a Sunni Arab population (20% of Iraq’s total) that simply could not accept that it would not be the ruling caste - with the accompanying perks - in a post-Saddam world. If Iraqis as a whole really wanted Saddam back, they would have elected one of his Tikriti kinsmen to power. Heck, they could have submitted to ISIS and gotten effectively the same thing, given how many of Saddam’s supporters rallied to ISIS’s banner, and were ISIS’s key commanders.

They have attacked Israel in the past and continue to attack Israel via Hezbollah. Besides which, short of a peace agreement, a state of war continues to exist between the two countries. Accounts haven’t been settled, and the Israelis have actually been pretty moderate about attacking the Assad family for fear of what might replace it.
As to international law, international law protects no one. If international law had any teeth, WWII would have not occurred, and Israel would not have had to fight multiple wars against the Arab armies just to continue existing.
As to your kids and your money - defense is 1/8 of total government spending, and aid to Israel is a rounding error in % terms. Jewish-American tax payments alone probably cover that portion of the budget, and then some. No American has ever fought in an Israeli war except as a volunteer.
Israel, a tiny dot relative to its Arab neighbors, risked an attack on Iraq’s nuclear reactor in the 80’s, sparing American forces during Desert Storm the danger of a nuclear attack. Meanwhile, a US military possessed of almost a dozen carriers, 5,000 front-line strike fighters and thousands of nuclear warheads quails before an Iran about to go nuclear. The issue isn’t American foolhardiness - it’s impotence.

Why this century? Because you say so? The Lockerbie bombing and the Gaddafi-sponsored German disco and airport attacks occurred in the 80’s. American leaders did not hesitate to put Gaddafi down when the opportunity presented itself, despite his payment of reparations for the victims of his attacks.
There is no statute of limitations on these things. Gaddafi’s were just terror attacks. Syria tried to erase the entire state of Israel off the map not once, but three times. If Gaddafi had tried to erase the US off the map just once, I think our government would not have waited almost 3 decades to remove him from power. We’d probably have GI’s on occupation duty in Libya today.

Even by your standards, Syria has done a lot to earn Israel’s ire. Assad has been a key sponsor of Palestinian terror groups that have launched rockets against Israel. Hamas’s HQ used to be in Syria. What did we do to the Taliban for harboring al Qaeda? What would we do to a country that harbored a terror group that randomly launched missiles against our cities for a decade (and continues to launch them)?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel
Since 2001, Palestinian militants have launched thousands[1][2][3][4] of rocket and mortar attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip as part of the continuing ArabIsraeli conflict. From 2004 to 2014, these attacks have killed 27 Israeli civilians, 5 foreign nationals, 5 IDF soldiers, and at least 11 Palestinians[5] and injured more than 1900 people,
