This morning I read about this attack on a supply depot.

This was done behind the Turkish lines, but inside of Syria.

The elimination of the ammo reserve is as important as the destruction of the 4 tanks.

I don’t want them there either. But there is no way we walk away.

The SDF (mostly Kurds in Efrin) either fight or die.

They are obviously fighting.

I’m unable to judge that. With heavy presence of Iranian military in Syria, I’m not sure they have any choice.

Israel has nothing to do with the action described here.

Obama should have never tried the coup in Turkey.

How stupid.

Israel had no reason to attack the sovereign nation of Syria or its invitees over an unarmed drone?? I do not support Israel on that at all.

What do Israel and drones have to do with this story?

Wait! Let me answer for you.

Answer: Nothing. Absolutely nothing!

Israel and drones have absolutely nothing to do with this story.

Count is higher than Turks want to admit.

The count of Kurd deaths is lover than Turks will admit. Turks consider civilians as “terrorists” and adds to soldiers and then multiply it by 4.

Not sure how seriously to take their numbers, but they claim 130 dead Turks from Feb 1-8.
https://anfenglishmobile.com/rojava/sdf-130-turkish-soldiers-were-killed-in-afrin-in-one-week-24864

The Turkish KIA numbers are just over half as big as ours during the worst months in Iraq. But our numbers were countrywide numbers against the remnants of a 400,000-strong army. If the Turks finally withdraw without achieving their objectives*, we’ll know they were hit hard.

* Given the way Turkey has stopped harping on attacking Manbij, my guess is that the destruction of the pro-Assad forces attacking the Kurds has sent the Turks a message that mere words failed to convey.

Most dead soldiers are on the same side. Even Turkish ones, I’d imagine. I don’t see any of this ending, unfortunately.

Israel has thousands of reasons to attack Syria, at any time, for any reason, all lying in military and civilian cemeteries across the nation, thanks to Syria’s three attempts (1948, 1967, 1973) at erasing Israel from the map, and Syria’s continuing sponsorship of terror groups ranging from the PLO, Hamas, the PFLP to Hezbollah that have ceaselessly attacked and killed Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Turk and FSA dead is way over 130 over the past 23 days.

SDF claims 77 dead soldiers, 129 civilians (last numbers I saw)

Un-official ANHA News compiled numbers show 669 members of the Turkish army and allied gangs were killed between January 20 – February 7.

FSA is getting hammered badly.

What you’re also not getting is that Syria, like all but two Arab countries (Egypt and Jordan), exists in a state of war with Israel. As a result of the Camp David Accords, Egypt and Jordan signed peace treaties with Israel. Syria and the rest of the Arab countries that invaded in 1948 are still technically at war with Israel. They don’t recognize Israel to this day and reserve the right to erase it from the map at any opportune moment, alone or in coalition.
