I’ll invite him to dinner at my humble house.
Alan’s drumbeat defense of Trump got his pal Rubashkin out of jail.
It’s OK, Dersh.....conservatives love it.
Alan, check out Evan Seyet’s video: “...I hate my wife...”
Same here. It confirms that their opinions are emotionally based, addressing the needs of the faction instead of the nation.
I’m afraid I will lose my sister. We were always close. Now that we both have families, her left leanings were cast for all to hear sitting at the Thanksgiving table. It’s sad, it really is.
Yep. Turns out they were only associations, not friends.
Heck, I don’t talk to my liberal family members any more.
The feelings are mutual, I can assure you.
I don’t have liberal friends. Do not be unequally yoked. What does light have in common with darkness. I will be polite and kind with them, but that is where it ends.
While I might not agree with Alan on much, I do respect intellectual honesty. I hate hypocrites. I see the people on videos that like the tax cuts as long as they are told they are Bernie’s plan. Well past too stupid to vote IMO.
Not being invited to dinner by liberal friends has two upsides. First, you will not be subjected to being force to listen to their illogical poisonous rants. Second, they cannot actually poison you.
Alan, here's a no-brainer. Defending truth is better than defending a lie.
When Jesus was being examined by Pontius Pilate, Pilate asked Him the question, "What is truth?" Pilate didn't know that he was looking at truth incarnate.
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. - John 8:31,32
Gotta love those “tolerant” leftists.
You raise an interesting conundrum. Across all of us Deplorables, with which of the following groups would you want to MAGA?
1. Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Jeb Bush
2. Dershowitz, Camille Paglia
3. Ted Cruz, Glenn Beck
Keep in mind the folks behind Door #2 are pro-abortionists ( a "right" that isn't explicitly in the Constitution) and Dershowitz is a rabid anti-gun abolitionist (and the 2nd Amendment is IN the Constitution).
I know you can't always get what you want: the Soviets were our allies in WWII and some vile creatures walked alongside (crashed the party of?) honorable Deplorables at Free Speech rallies earlier this year.
But my point is that Dershowitz, while seeming to be on the MAGA train, could likely "go rouge" at any moment. I like him in theory but he should be treated with caution, IMHO.
“I’ve lost a friend of 50 years over my undivided support for Trump.”
My wife just kissed off her “favorite female cousin” for the same reason, and we have done the same thing collectively to a HS friend of hers who is Jewish and is forever touting how she’s an ACLU Girl. We’ve decided that we do not need these people in our lives when we know that their world view is 180 degrees from ours. And it’s not like either of these people have a modicum of sense when it comes to understanding the world today. It’s always about their “feelings.”
What changed Dershowitz is watching Obama attitudes to Israel insofar as he being critical of Dems to any degree
Like a Krauthammer his support of Israel is the barometer that gives the pretense of being conservative
He is no conservative though he tries to be fair about constitutional questions
Dershowitz has some dark personal stuff that could destroy him if this sex stuff ever totally blows up engulfing the Clintons
The good news is, they weren't really his friends. Thanks GonzoII.
We wouldn't have a government permitting abortion -- a right that doesn't even exist in the Constitution.
We wouldn't have a government regulating the possession and use of firearms; the Constitution is clear on that subject.
We wouldn't have a deep-state bureaucracy that sucks the wealth from citizens and throws it down entitlement black holes.
We wouldn't have a tax monster that can be weaponized against political opponents.
We wouldn't have government agencies devoted to controlling what light bulbs we use and how much water we can use to flush our toilets.
And on and on ...
I have a new friend who is a liberal and we became friends during the campaign I told him in September of 2015 Trump was going to win so for a while he got to laugh now I do. I know he has lost friends because of politics and is sensitive to that very thing so I try to be too. I find making jokes and pointing out the selective outrage is a good combo.
Really a weird time for friends who have differing political opinions hopefully many realize its silly to get so upset and do the red team blue team crap

Then learn how to cook or find someone who does......LOL!
