Sorry Al, but he had nothing to do with my decision which was made when Kaepernick started showing his disdain for this country, and the league did nothing to stop it.

BTW, Al, whenever you were among the announcers of a game, I muted the sound as you were terrible at announcing in games.

Did Al Michaels say anything when Obama said "Don't go to Las Vegas" in 2010?

Al Michaels:“once the president made those remarks in Alabama, at that particular point it was like throwing a match into a gas tank.”

So we're just supposed to ignore the un-American activities of these spoiled rotten millionaire athletes and let them dishonor those who fought and died for all of our freedoms, Al???

Screw that, I'm glad we have a President that is not afraid to go against political correctness and EXPOSE these un-American activities to the world.

You and your ilk, Al, are nothing but PC bullies and can't stand it when someone like President Trump stands up to all of you and your god of PC.

That’s a liberal, huh. Always pointing the finger at someone else, never takes responsibility for their own actions.

One lucky assignment almost 40 years ago and he still thinks he’s the second coming of Howard Cosell.

Michaels said he believed the kneeling controversy was simmering down until Trump weighed in

He's not wrong. It doesn't change anything in the debate, it doesn't change the NFL's decline, and it doesn't mean that it is Trump's "fault"... but the kneeling issue did quickly jump back up in the national discussion once Trump got involved, and many more players decided to be petulant (for one weekend anyway) and protest against the President just as much as against the flag.

Two things:

First Al, before this thing started, there was nothing. And within a couple of weeks, high school athletes were doing it. And you say it was simmering down? Your network was a major player in the spreading of the word as to what was being accepted by the public and things that would never have hit the news without them to spread the situation.

Additionally, no one from your network was doing any research to find what the players are contractually required to do and why they could be suspended. You can try to blame this on Trump, along with most of the hurricanes, the Santa Ana winds, and while you’re at it, the cop killings in Texas where officers died trying to save the predominantly black crowd that had gathered and were shot to death.

But right now the lack of attendance at games, the ignoring of merchandise sales, and the boycotting of people like your sponsors is overshadowing your apparent being made into a prostitute for your network and the league making comments and accusations like this. But when it all comes down to it, you and he have every right by the first amendment to make the comments you both did. The big difference is that yours is just trying to bail out the situation using a political statement. His is trying to protect and respect a country you make your millions in. Which one of you has class?

Trump had nothing to do with the NFL’s troubles.

He told them publicly how to rid themselves of their troubles, and instead of listen to Trump, they let their paid fool-players abscond with their stage, their reputation, and a yuuuuge chunk of their fan base.

And the NFL commissioner wants what, $50M per year salary! A personal jet for life! Healthcare for his family for life!

Toss that brand-destroying bum out on his ear!!

Don’t be cruel though, hook him up with a couple of tickets to ANY half empty NFL stadium of his choosing. If you’re feeling extra generous, give him some food coupons too....

Sounds like Mr. Michaels might be having a GAY relationship with Roger Goodell.

I'll have to make a note to remind myself to send Al Michaels a new set of kneepads for Christmas.
