Cruz pulls support from Moore: Allegations merit ‘criminal prosecution’ if true

Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday withdrew his support from Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore, saying allegations of sexual misconduct should be looked at by prosecutors.

“As it stands, I can’t urge the people of Alabama to support a campaign in the face of these charges without serious, persuasive demonstration that the charges are not true,” the Texas Republican told reporters, according to a Texas Tribune reporter.

“Both last week and this week, there are serious charges of criminal conduct that if true, not only make him unfit to serve in the Senate but merit criminal prosecution,” he added.

>> it’s a fantastic post! <<

Well, yeah, it did look pretty interesting. But due to the lack of paragraphing, I got lost before I could finish it.

Aha! Now the equation becomes clear.

In other words,

Bush + Mercer + Bannon = Cruz

I agree, the sexual harassment hysteria has a bit of an angry villagers with torches feel. Rapists and pedophiles should be prosecuted but with Judge Moore the timing, the players involved, and the age of the accusations seem suspect.

I will say this about the South, it is a bit more agrarian and younger women and older men are a thing. In the mid-80s when I was 18 I had a college job selling books and Bibles door-to-door over the summer in the Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. One time I was making my pitch to a pleasant family in a nice house. I didn't make the sale but, as I was leaving, the mother asked me if I would be willing to take their daughter out on a date because she liked me. She was pretty and about 5' 8" or so but looked a bit young. I asked how old she was and when I heard 14 I had to decline. 17 might have been OK because that would like be at most 18 months difference in age. Last week I ate a can of chili last week that was past the expiration date that long.

The South is a slightly different culture and while the Left will screech like banshees to defend a Muslim rapist with claims about his culture being equal to theirs; they ridicule and berate the South. It is a true “Heads I win, tails you lose!” kind of mentality that I am truly sick of.

And what makes it even more despicable is that the left will circle the wagons around any rapist pedophile predator who gives them money or offers them any advantage. I'm talking about you Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Cruz should be ashamed of himself — or at least reregister as a Democrat.

Fidel Cruz has no business or right telling the people of Alabama how to vote. To hell with him.

"Please think and check your sources before jumping to conclusions and incriminating innocent people"

Why don't you check your sources. I got that information from the press conference. Granted, she was the one that said she and her husband voted for Trump, however per the following story:

https://heavy.com/news/2017/11/beverly-young-nelson-roy-moore-accuser-allred/

According to the Alabama Secretary of State, being an “inactive voter” means that they didn’t respond to a mailing requesting to update their information and are still eligible to vote as a normal voter.

Being an inactive voter in Alabama does not mean she didn't vote. So check your facts before accusing me of not checking mine....

Shame on everyone who has pulled support. I thought that Cruz had balls, and would withhold judgment. This piranha feast is sickening. Go to hell, all of you.

I no longer know what to think. I just watched Hannity and Ingraham on youtube. They were no longer supporting Moore. They described the circumstances of the allegations which seemed pretty awful.

I still like Cruz. I can’t speak to his moral character, but as far as I’m concerned he is among the most conservative Senators, if not the most conservative. He has been willing to take flak for his conservative views when no one else would stand up for them.

I agree about Menendez. Also Bill Clinton. I hate the double standard.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. If the dems are all sleazy scumbags, then they all need to be prosecuted and removed from office. Same goes for repubs. I’d start with Graham, McCain, McConnell on the R side, and Pelosi, Schumer, and innumerable others on the D side.

He would never have become president. He would have done the Mitt-the-Stupid think of being an easy opponent for a leftist presidential campaign to beat.

So do we have to vote for Beto O’Rourke? Maybe Bannon can find a primary challenger to Cruz for March 6, 2018, but he said he was staying out of TX.

Just a Historical portion of what the sexual environment was in the 70's.....

The 60's thru the 80's was the sexual revolution and certainly challenged traditional codes of behavior related to sexuality and interpersonal relationships..... public nudity, pornography, premarital sex, homosexuality, and alternative forms of sexuality, and the legalization of abortion all were a part of it. .....also brought gonorrhea incidences , births out of wedlock, and 'births to teenagers' which began to rise dramatically.

The 70's were dead center of it all when experimentation was the heaviest....the 'freedom of sexual expression'.... Porn such as "Deep Throat" achieved major box office success....By the mid-1970s and through the 1980s, newly won sexual freedoms were being exploited by 'big businesses' looking to capitalize on an increasingly 'permissive society', with the advent of public and hardcore pornography....the concept of "free love" was world wide.... and "no-fault" unilateral divorce became legal and easier to obtain in many countries during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.

At the same time a great decline in religious observance began sliding into the ditch..... values such as the biblical notion of "be fruitful and multiply" were cast aside as people continued to feel alienated from the past and 'adopted the lifestyles of 'progressive' modernizing cultures.

Equally the feminist thinkers urged women 'to initiate' sexual advances, enjoy sex and 'experiment' with new forms of sexuality.

Beginning in San Francisco in the mid-1960s, a new culture of "free love" emerged, with thousands of young people becoming "hippies", inspired by Indian culture, who preached the power of love and the beauty of sex as part of ordinary life. This is part of a counterculture that continues to exist. By the 1970s, it was socially acceptable for colleges to permit co-ed housing.

Free love continued in different forms throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s, but its more assertive manifestations ended abruptly (or at least disappeared from public view) in the mid-1980s when the public first became aware of AIDS, a deadly sexually-transmitted disease.

p> Interesting the prevalence of 'teenage pregnancy' in developed nations such as the US Canada and the UK increased and did not see a decline until about the 1990s.

Do you agree that Trump supporters are generally strong of will and mind? Independent thinkers?

If so, please finish this sentence:

The latest accuser, who says she is a Trump supporter, waited 40 years, one month prior to the FINAL election for the Alabama senate seat, to report being molested by Roy Moore (even though he has been prominent in Alabama politics for many years) because...

Confirming yet again that conservatives made the correct choice in nominating Donald J. Trump.

The real issue now is that Washington is saying that if the voters elect a candidate that they do not approve of -- they will refuse to seat that electee. That is a coup -- i.e.: the coup is well under way now, and the voters are becoming incidental.

His seat is up in 2018 and he’s scared.

Ted should be scared. He just failed the honor and integrity test again.

Had he stood by Moore until the truth of these charges was determined, he would have been a hero to the voters. Instead, he turned his back on a comrade in need, and joined the coward caucus.
