NFL - Let's start a movement!
Rational Equality ^ | 9/25/17 | Baynative

NFL players who disrespect our nation's flag and National Anthem are claiming it is a protest about equality and they have to do this because they are not being heard.

I say we stand with them by demanding that the US Department of Labor and EEOC enforce all existing employment and affirmative action rules on the businesses that participate in the NFL to make sure that their respective employee demographics reflect the US population by the end of the 2018-19 season.

Of the United States' 2014 population of 318,857,056 people, 77.4 percent identify as white, while 17.4 percent identify as Hispanic or Latino, making this the largest ethnic minority in the country. The next largest minority identifies as Black or African American, making up 13.2 percent of the nation's population. The current ethnic representation in the NFL is way out of line and it violates the spirit of the reason the players are protesting.

At first making sure all NFL teams comply with this racial breakdown may seem as though it would be the end of the game. But, that isn't necessarily so.

While changing the racial make up might mean some smaller and slower players, teams would still look within their recruiting pools for the best talent and the results would still provide winners and losers based on ability, performance and game management.

Salary caps didn't ruin the game, handicapped starts didn't ruin drag racing, weight equalization and restrictions didn't ruin NASCAR. So let's get with it and give the players what they want!

Somebody with legal ability needs to please follow-up on posts yesterday which indicate that the NFL has established public guidelines on required behavior during the national anthem - it says that the anthem is to be played and that players are to stand, etc. If/as this rule is being violated while others ala RGIII are fined for similar situations, then the NFL is committing a public fraud! While the NFL is private per se, they are publicly accountable to abide by the rules they have publicly presented! If they aren’t going to change the rules then they need to start requiring players to behave like responsible citizens as they are apparently obligated contractually. This then becomes a MASSIVE CLASS ACTION against the NFL!

Seriously, this issue won't be swept aside like something as simple as Hillary Clinton violating the espionage act and destroying evidence, or embezzling non-profit funds to pay computer hackers to defraud the government.

No folks, this is real; it's been brewing for years and it isn't going away. These poor players are hurting. This issue affects them, their families and even their posses.

It's up to us to be good citizens and help them out. Write or call you representatives NOW!

Stopped watching nearly as much a few years back due to the rules changes making it unwatchable. Am done with it for good no matter how it ends. Maybe that’s what the left intended.

It’s time Congress revokes the NFL’s anti-trust exemption.

So what if it means “slower and smaller” personnel

Any corporate or govt entity with an “affirmative action” program has the same issue

What about women!

Do you think that over half of the NFL is female? N-N-N-N-N-O-O-O-O-O!

Yep, I'm still watching college ball, but I am preparing for the inevitable.

Anti-trust, tax breaks, community-funded stadiums, teams demographics not matching their state’s — any and all breaks they get need to be spotlighted. Brightly.

Make them pay rent for public built stadium.

Pay more Federal taxes.

The NFL did start a movement - a bowel movement and the fans are now flushing it down.
