New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie rejects Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) memory of the Hurricane Sandy relief bill. Cruz insisted recently that the Sandy bill, created in hopes of helping the victims affected by the storm that hammered New Jersey in 2012, was filled with unnecessary pork spending that had nothing to do with relief efforts. How dare Cruz spew that narrative while standing in Texas shelters and demanding aid on live TV, Christie responded on CNN Wednesday.

Non emergency spending on a disaster relief spend is by its very definition pork.
I think they both suck. So there!
Absolutely.
His father killed Kennedy. He was in cahoots with the Cubans. Fact.
Absolutely Ludacris to hang all that “pork” on ANY bill sent forth for approval. NONE! If the “bill” cannot stand on it’s own merits, it fails, end of story.
I personally served 20+ years as a County Commissioner and approved or signed hundreds of bills over that time. Not one single bill got approved which included funding for anything not related to the specific purpose of said bill. Authors of some bills tried but those particular bills were immediately amended before being approved. If our federal government EVER considered an approval process like that perhaps the country would move forward as too much time is wasted on needless debate.
Why does Cruz constantly step in it? Arrogance?
CRUZ:
“The Sandy bill, was filled with unnecessary pork spending that had nothing to do with relief efforts.”
CHRISTY:
“That’s a downright lie!”
“It wasn’t ‘filled with unnecessary pork spending’ - there was room for plenty more.”
Yes, he sure dropped out of the race quickly when that connection was brought up. Would be curious to know more about that one.
hahahahahahah...wait, you’re serious! let me laugh harder. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
Christie gave Obama a big ole sweet bear hug. The opportunistic spending was shameful and Cruz was right. Christie has one thing, a loud voice.
Thanks for the numbers. Glad to see not everyone here is afflicted with CDS.
I was disappointed that he was back peddling a bit. Oy.

Here’s just some of Hurricane Sandy Emergency Relief Pork
The pork-barrel feast includes more than $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. It also includes:
A whopping $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska
$2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC.
An eye-popping $13 billion would go to mitigation projects to prepare for future storms.
Other big-ticket items in the bill include $207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center;
$41 million to fix up eight military bases along the storms path, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba;
$4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida;
$3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and
$1.1 million to repair national cemeteries.
$58.8 million for forest restoration on private land.
$197 million to
protect coastal ecosystems and habitat impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
$10.78 billion for public transportation, most of which is allocated to future construction and improvements, not disaster relief.
$17 billion for wasteful Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), a program that has become notorious for its use as a backdoor earmark program.
Maybe many of these are justified causes but they are not Sandy relief. So who’s lying?

The headline from the New York Post article dated Dec. 15, 2012 — “Obama Sandy aid bill filled with holiday goodies unrelated to storm damage” - The article details much of the overspending that Cruz complained of in that bill. There are similar article[s] from the Daily Mail, Fox News, WaPo and others, detailing the pork included in that bill. Cruz and the other senators were right in objecting to the original $60 billion appropriation bill.
>> Christie is an ass and a trouble maker. A bully and a fraud <<
Sure.
But it takes one to know one.
Therefore, it seems to me that Christie is absolutely correct about Cruz.
It's true, smarty pants! They even have a picture of Lyin' Ted's dad, standing on a street corner with Oswald, handing out leaflets! Looks just like him!
Cruz is such a typical self serving career politician. He hid under his desk post Charlottesville while millions of his supporters were smeared as defacto Nazis. Now he rush to find the cameras and gives non stop softball interviews during a natural disaster.
The Sandy Scam bill was reprehensible....and Christie's nothing more than self-serving RINO.
Hatred of Cruz makes people a liberal kind of stupid. This phenomenon is also seen in people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
What’s stupid is thinking Ted Cruz cares about you. Where was Cruz when a rabid pack of our fellow Republicans were validating potential left wing violence on us? Go look at Cruz’s twitter. Total radio silence around Charlottesville. So much for principled conservatism. The man is a climbing careerist who has no interest in defending Main Street. He proves it time and again yet his deluded cultists continue to worship him.
