Confederate flag sales booming after Charlottesville

Despite the controversy over monuments and the deadly Alt-Left vs Alt-Right rallies in Charlottesville, Virginia, there has been another surge in the sale of Confederate flags, CBS News reported.

Belinda Kennedy, owner of the Alabama Flag & Banner shop in Huntsville, Alabama, said sales have been brisk. She said sales spiked even more “dramatically within in the last 24 hours,” since an interview about the shop was published at AL.com.

“What's really pushing sales [now] is removal of the monuments,” said Kennedy, who opened her shop in 1985. “The general feeling I get from customers that call and email is that they are just pushing back at a small group of people who are trying to revise a huge slice of American history. I think as long as that's in the news,” demand will continue.

Most U.S. flag makers stopped producing Confederate flags two years ago, CBS News reported, when sales surged after Dylann Roof went on a shooting rampage at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Roof, convicted of killing nine people, was sentenced to death in January.

Annin Flagmakers stopped making the Confederate Battle Flag version after the shootings, Mary E. Repke, senior vice president of sales and marketing, told CBS News in an e-mail. They were a tiny portion of sales and went primarily to Civil War reenactor organizations, she added.

All well and good.

It is and always has been about states’ rights and the ability to govern oneself without interference from Big Sister/Big Brother. If it wasn’t slavery it would have been something else to trigger CWI.

BTW, maybe we should talk about how blacks enslave other blacks even today. Or how the Democrats have somehow kept the blacks on the plantation even up to today.

That seems to be lost in the media.

Democraps protesting something Democraps invented and used quite often in their political campaigns. Curious how they only got offended by it when Trump took office.

I have never been enamored of the Confederacy. I have an ancestor who fought them. I have stated here before while I have no wish to see Confederate statues destroyed I don't feel they should be on public property. I have no problem with their being in a museum or in private hands. However given the recent ‘’cultural revolution’’ bought about by Leftist thugs regarding said statues I'm not so sure what to believe anymore. I pray to the Almighty for guidance on this. I confess to be conflicted about the subject.

It may become illegal to sell Confederate flags.

It is our history and we cannot change it, we can only forget it. That is why statues are meant to remind us.

This is not about the “Confederacy” or “slaves” or any other such thing.

This is the left punishing the right in the dirtiest way they know how, because, in their demented, conceited little minds, “ignorant rednecks” voted Trump in.

Whether you like or not, whether you loathe the Confederates or not, they still see *you* as a redneck rebel, too.

We’re ALL Dixie, now.[Salamander©2015]

And they’re determined to eradicate us, be it symbolically or literally, one way or another.

People are simply not seeing the devious strategy behind this sudden “concern” for all things Confederate., which is merely a code word for “white”.

Pure Alinksy tactics.
And it’s succeeding.

I don’t believe you should be allowed on public property. Guess neither of us will get our WISH unless someone goes to extra effort. History is history. You don’t get to pick and choose what the rest of us want and what’s part of history. I see you in the not to distance crying under your bed when they deem you unneeded. You will want people then to defend your rights but you say to hell with others so I hope for your sake Karma isn’t a bitch but it is. Just remember this self superior feeling and when the time comes know it came full circle.

Monument capitulation isn’t the end it’s the start of a war on America.

First symbolically, then literally.

And I like "We're ALL Dixie, now." Well said.

They were a tiny portion of sales and went primarily to Civil War reenactor organizations, she added........................... Oh crap! Now the Yankees at the reenactments will be fighting invisible opponents? The southerners will be banned because they offend a minute part of the population?? Geeeeez, please bring back the 50’s, I want to hear Irish, Italian, Polish, etc, jokes again. We were free to laugh at ourselves back then. It truly was a better time. No one felt offended, it was a war of jokes, and we were all friendly towards each other afterward, just having a good time. I told an Italian joke to my relatives in Italy and they laughed their heads off. (As I type, I’m chuckling just remembering it.)

Those of us in the majority, had no one here in 1865. We see it as this country’s history. The history won’t disappear over night, the causes fought for will be remembered mostly by those who had relatives here at the time. As a first generation American who has read many novels dating back to that period, I feel no malice towards any of the fighting men whether they be from the north or the south. It was the POLITICIANS that drove them into the war. Armies do not declare wars. Neither side was guilty of mass murders, except for a few exceptions like Liberty KA. and Ft Pillow. (Ft Pillow by the famous Democrat that founded the KKK.) (Liberty KA, by a homicidal maniac.) There were no mass graves to hide murdered victims.

Both sides gave their dead an honored burial regardless whether they were from the north or the south. Are we to remove the rebel graves from Gettysburg and other battle fields? What purpose would it serve? Both sides fought for their freedom, when you loose your freedom, you can never regain it without bloodshed. Are the Brits offended by the Revolutionary flags of the USA? Is there a law in the UK that forbids them? The asylum has been taken over here.

ebay and Amazon banned selling them right after Nikki Haley let the devil in the door.

The demand here was so great, people were ordering them and waiting months to get them.

There are more battle flags flying in my area now than ever before.

And those pissed off people all voted for Trump and the left knows it.

*That* is the real reason for all of this.

Why they didn’t learn the lesson is beyond me.

They’re just kicking that vicious dog even harder and it’s only making it madder.

Remember when Shepler's proudly sold this jacket?

They also tucked tail and ran after Haley's Folly.

I've had scores of people try to buy this jacket off of my back.

Right now, they're trying to get rid of my state flag *and* that statue of Lee.

My state song will be next.

“I have never been enamored of the Confederacy. I have an ancestor who fought them.”

My family tree was firmly planted in Kentucky, a “border state” at the time where it was brother against brother literally. Consequently, I had ancestors on both sides. Like everyone else via public education we only heard one side of the story. In recent years I revisited the subject and came to different conclusions. If democrats/antifa types are against something that should be your clue as to what to be for. We are not fighting the war of 1861 but of 2017.Totally different reasons. You seem to be trending the right direction. I have the battle flag and bonnie blue.
