If she's triggered by a Confederate flag and not a raging hurricane then leave her stupid ass behind, pardon my French Mademoiselle Salamander. Reminds me of a story. Guy's told a hurricane is coming and he'd better hop on board this big truck if he wants to avoid getting swamped. “Nope’’, he say’s “God's gonna save me!’’. “Ok’’ he's told and away goes the truck. Well the hurricane comes in blowing winds at 100 mph and the flood waters start rising. Along come some people in a boat and say, “C’mon pal, get in!’’ “Nope’’ he yells, God's gonna save me!’’ Well a little while later the rising waters have chased the guy up on to his roof. Along comes a helicopter and the pilot yells down "We're going to lower the basket to you and you jump in!'' "Nope'' he's yells God's gonna save me!'' Well the waters drown the poor guy and when he's standing before God he say's "God, why didn't you save me, why did you let me drown?'' And God say's "Listen my son I sent a guy in a truck and you said no. I sent a guy in a boat and you said no. And then I sent a guy in a helicopter and you still said no'' God say's to him "What do I have to do to convince you?''

That popped up on James Woods’ Twitter feed when he commented on Olberman’s impending psychic break.

Someone asked “What happened to RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA?” and that was the reply.

Epic...and dead on.

:)

Ah yes I recall seeing it as a backdrop in the Atlanta Bazaar/Dance scene in Gone With The Wind. Another item that the left wants gone. Here is the youtube clip for now.

No you cut the crap....I’m 70 years old so stop with the sonny crap. You sir are ignorant....worse than that you are sitting in front of a computer. I’ve never mentioned tariffs so I don’t know where that is coming from. The civil war was fought fifty years before 1914 so that is meaningless as well. Slaves went for between $800 and $2000 dollars so the bit about the horse is simply not true. What you need to do is grow up and then educate yourself....you don’t know what your talking about!!!

70 years old and you’re still as dumb as a post. Educate yourself. And btw I’m 61 so don’t think yourself some wise old sage.

I sure hope so, too.

Currently still grieving.

Can’t see an end to that, right now.

No disrespect meant here, but slaves were in fact a high priced item. Worth much more than the average horse.

How much weight could a slave carry? Could a slave pull a wagon or plow a field? Could soldiers mount slaves and charge like cavalry? For that matter do we measure the out put of a combustion engine in slave power or horse power?

Good questions, but irrelevant. Slaves were a traded commodity, and as such were in fact very valuable, value based on training, and abilities.

Please do some research on comparative prices of slaves, say in new Orleans, or elsewhere, you will find they were in the 900 to 1500 dollar range, in 1860's dollars.

More refined ones brought a lot more.

Compared to horse flesh, which could be had at a much lower price, a fraction of the cost.

It was what it was. Arguing that it was not will not change it.

Tell me how a good question is ‘’irrelevant’’?
