Who gets the Secretary of DHS job now?
President Trump can appoint an acting secretary of his own choosing.
If he doesn’t appoint someone else, Elain Duke, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, automatically moves up into the slot.
She’s anti-border wall and another Obama holdover.
Although she has been around in the federal government since the Dark Ages and did work in the George Dubya Bush administration.

That was one of my first thoughts but I'm sure Kelly knows how to enforce a chain of command and that he got that chain straightened out before he accepted.

Elaine C. Duke (born 1958) is an American civil servant. On January 30, 2017, she was nominated by President Donald Trump to become the United States Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security under John F. Kelly. She became acting Secretary of Homeland Security when former secretary Kelly was named White House Chief of Staff on July 28, 2017.
Career
Duke held a consulting practice at Elaine Duke & Associates, LLC in Woodbridge, Virginia.[1]
Duke served as Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Management at the department under both presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama from July 2008 to April 2010.[2][3][4] She has had more than 28 years of experience with the federal government.[5]
Duke’s nomination received a hearing before the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on March 8, 2017.[6] On March 15, 2017 her nomination was reported to the United States Senate.[7] On April 4, 2017 she was confirmed by a vote of 85-14.[8]
After John F. Kelly was named White House Chief of Staff on July 28, 2017, Duke was named Acting Secretary of Homeland Security.

Kelly won’t leak. Hearing they’d like Kobach at DHS, but don’t know if Trump can get ANYONE confirmed with the moron Senate.

This is a multi-hundred-year civilizational struggle. Everyone had better get used to it. And, be prepared to do what is necessary to win.
That includes especially quarantines.
