Tahoe is brimming, nearly full for the first time in 11 years, and stunningly beautiful in all its blue-water glory.
The above gallery of images taken over the past month are ample proof.
Getting to this point took a lot of hard work on Mother Nature's part.

In the first three weeks of January alone, the region received nearly a full winter's worth of snow. Then came February, and the Sierra Nevada was slammed yet again with moisture-packed chains of storms fueled by weather systems known as atmospheric rivers or the "Pineapple Express."
By winter's end, the Sierra snowpack was among the largest in recorded history.
And then the hot weather hit, the snow began to melt, sending water pouring down the mountainsides into the lake.
The Drought was exacerbated by dam-hating Leftists and freedom-hating Libturd California politicians.
I remember reading something about huge losses due to over-irrigation.
I was at South Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful place. But no place to park unless you start early. Swarming with people. Traffic jams. People losing money at the casinos. Too much drinking.
But what a beautiful place.
Me and my Wife’s favorite vacation spot. Love the drive up highway 395 from So Kal. With must stops at Hickory Smoked Meats and Schats Bakkery in Bishop.
Considering retiring on the Nevada side for more favorable taxation. Just not sure about full time with the hard Winters.
None. The only outlet is the Truckee river which flows east into Nevada. You may be thinking of some other lake.
Yep, he is thinking of Lake Meade and the Colorado River. My mom lives in Vegas and I am always asking of the lake is up enough for the spillways yet.
” groundwater throughout the state remained at over 90% of normal.”
That part is not true.
Those white sand beaches were created by real estate devlopers in the ‘20s by bringing sand up from the Coast. There were mud flats there before.
I had a slight friendship with a couple who were out to save nature, etc and ruined a Tahoe weekend for them by pointing out that the pristine beaches were man-madeand other various things that in their minds nature had provided in all of its glory.
The psycho-b!tch was really mad at me that only added to my satisfaction.
How disgusting and pathetic it is that people can’t go and enjoy nature because it’s too jammed with people throwing their money away. (90% rich liberals, too, by the way.)
Looking at the pictures makes me miss living where Tahoe was a short trip. Nothing like it in Texas. My niece lives in Carson City and I thought about moving there but chose to move to Texas to be closer to my kids instead. If you do retire there, do move to the Nevada side so CA can’t tax your retirement.
So glad Lake Tahoe has filled up again. I was married there many years ago and still love the area.
Wasn't there during the height of the drought but was at Mammoth Lakes and the shorelines had receded considerably. A couple of years ago we were walking on dry land that was usually under 12 feet of water.
“weather systems known as atmospheric rivers or the “Pineapple Express”
Remember reading last Fall that the “Experts” were predicting a lot of rain. BUT since the storms would be coming from the warmer southern Pacific regions (Pinapple express) the results would be little snow, mostly rain which would not be captured. Therefore California must stay on drought protocol. Always an agenda with these commie “Experts”
That’s 1600 feet deep.
Have a couple of friends who retired to Minden or Gardnerville (can’t remember) not even a year ago. They absolutely love it and visit Lake Tahoe regularly. They actually kind of ran into running a tourist campground for trailers and RVs during the summer.
unrelenting series of blizzard blasts that coated the Northern Sierra this winter
I thought snow was something that children would only see in pictures.
You mean the Global Warming Geniuses were wrong with that forecast?
I looked it up...and it is Lake Mead that was "raped", so to speak, by the irrigation advocates.
Someone had remarked that one could know when a commercial came on TV in LA during the Super Bowl, as the level of Lake Mead would drop two inches from all the toilet flushes at one time.
Humor, yes...but a lot of desert in California has been made green by Lake Mead water.
It appears it will run out sooner or later and I guarantee the eyes will cast toward Lake Tahoe.
EVERYTHING from the Tahoe Basin goes east, down the Truckee River to Reno and beyond (ends up in the flats in Pyramid Lake). There is a canal cut through from the northern part of the Truckee to the Carson River basin, which continues to flow east and sinks into the earth, the Carson Sink near the Fallon NAS.
I walked and drove over much of this part of Nevada in the years from 1997 to 2002, as part of my assignment with the Department of Interior. So I saw it up close and in times of both drought and relatively plentiful water.
Big variation between high and low levels.
Yep, Minden is were I gas up and then cut over to the Kingsbury grade to come up the back side of Tahoe. Kind of high desert like. Will get some snow, but can be warm and dry in the Summer. My buddies work just opened a small Rubber plant there, talked about transferring, but I doubt he will.
It is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I like to go in the winter and ski. There are a few ski trails at Heavenly on the south end where you can look out over the lake. On a clear day, the lake is a gorgeous bright blue and you can see all the way to the north end of the lake over 30 miles away. Absolutely breathtaking.
I feel blessed that an old Alabama boy like me has had that experience and has been able to witness such a glorious sight.
