Yep, he is thinking of Lake Meade and the Colorado River. My mom lives in Vegas and I am always asking of the lake is up enough for the spillways yet.
I looked it up...and it is Lake Mead that was "raped", so to speak, by the irrigation advocates.
Someone had remarked that one could know when a commercial came on TV in LA during the Super Bowl, as the level of Lake Mead would drop two inches from all the toilet flushes at one time.
Humor, yes...but a lot of desert in California has been made green by Lake Mead water.
It appears it will run out sooner or later and I guarantee the eyes will cast toward Lake Tahoe.
