Uh oh, I've gone and done it. The Internet will now melt with all the hot takes on both sides of the fence.

In terms of signing him, the organization is making money off the guy. He doubles or triples the gate. This is a legitimate consideration for professional baseball.
I don't know if Tebow's capacity to draw a crowd would have much impact at the big league level. But, he was only signed to a minor league contract.
Tebow's has been doing fine. He has enormous potential, in terms of power, and the big question is whether he could hit the much better pitchers you have at the professional level.
He seems to be adjusting well. Still, he's not getting around on the ball. His spray chart continues tilted to left field. His spray chart indicates room for improvement. Let's see if he continues to improve.
A generation ago, Michael Jordan showed a lot of improvement during the second half of his one year of professional baseball. Were Tebow to similarly improve from where he is at this point, he could warrant another promotion and even a look see in the bigs.
He'd definitely have a shot at making the major league team in spring training of next year. Or else begin next year in the high minors.
The haters will be out in force when Tebow appears in his first game
And the hypocrites who had a conniption over him having John 3:16 on his face, applauded that scum Koepernick kneeling during the anthem, and the women’s basketball team who wore BLM shirts.
Will they ever! Especially the sports writers.
He brought the crowds in at the Columbia Fireflies games. Everyone I have ever heard from who went to a game he played in said he was one AWESOME person!!
I don’t know about that. Did you see his stats in the minors? I was hoping, but...

Tebow hit a homerun the first night after his promotion(in 2nd game of double header).

He’s playing well. Games are selling out. My daughter recently went to one and loved it. Seriously, who’s complaining?
In 64 games with the Fireflies, Tebow batted .220 with three home runs and 23 RBIs, with .336 slugging and a .648 on-base percentage.
If that .648 on-base percentage is accurate, it's phenomenal. It's like he gets a walk 2 out of 5 appearances at the place. What gives?
If it had been Michael Sam, the GM would practically be up for sainthood, in the media’s eyes.
But Tebow making the show? I'm not so optimistic. His batting average is anemic for an outfielder and unacceptable for a DH. He's a little light on fielding percentage for a guy with his athleticism. Last report I read said Tim has trouble lifting the ball to hit flies. Power hitters have to do that.
I say more power to Tim and the Mets. The vast majority of people have no idea how hard it would be to pull off what he's trying. Mastering the skills to be a major leaguer is really, really hard.
Tebow’s no Michael Jordan that’s for sure and Jordan couldn’t do squat against major league pitching.
Mis-print maybe? I’m guess that .648 number shown was his OPS stat, not his slugging stat.
Huh? Now that is not right either! Okay, I give up! (I hope Tebow makes it. He has been through one heck of a lot.)
They fear his ability to hit it over the fence. Mickey Mantel was probably the most walked person in baseball. They would rather he get to first base on walks as opposed to bring in a couple of runners via a home run.
I could not care less about Tebow's baseball future, to me he's just a God fearing guy who is having fun in a sport both he and I love.
Whatever level he plays, he's bringing back respectability and is a role model to every kid who shows up to watch him play. Maybe that's been God's plan all along, I don't know.
What I will admit to, Tebow's #15 Fireflies jersey and a cap are the only sports figure apparel that I have ever purchased in my life.......
I could not care less about the other multi-millionaire franchise players in sports today..........
He may have had a .648 obp early on but it didn’t hold up.
That might work in politics, but it's pretty hard to spin 2 and maybe even 3 demotions since I don't know what FAL level ball is.
“.336 slugging”
Pretty weak ...well below major league average.
