Le Pen the Magnificent? I gather that, aside from immigration, she’s to the left of Bernie Sanders. She does appear to be a French patriot, which counts for something.
I don’t believe the 20 point spread but I also don’t think she’s going to win. There’s just too many forces that have teamed up against her

I believe Le Pen is a socialist. They all are to varying degrees. Le Pen is different on immigration and the EU
LePen barely breaks 40% — so a 20 point lead for Macron according to the polls overstates it, but only a little bit.
Knowing the french people and their recent history what actually makes you question the polls?
Fox&Friends reporterette just described LePan as “Far Right” and Macron as “Centrist”.

Both the Leave win in the EU Referendum and Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election were both within the margin of error.
In Trump’s case the media kept reporting 1 or 2 point moves as significant as opposed to noting the race was in the margin of error.
You don’t usually have a 10 or 20 point margin of error.
My best guess is that it is much closer than the polls say.
Otherwise there would be no need to trot out the Russians for another round of Putin hacked the election game.
About 10% of French citizens are Muslim. No way are they gonna vote for Le Pen. They are not the least bit interested in taking the slow boat back to Morocco.

I’ve heard the same from contacts in Europe. I guess she’s the farthest to the right [candidate] you can get in france. That doesn’t surprise me. What would surprise me is if she loses!
