5Saga Liberal Talk 1470 WNYY Ithaca NY will drop the format for Oldies on February 1.
In an interview with the Ithaca Times, General Manager Chet Osadchey stated that the move is due to lack of programming to fill out a schedule as only Alan Colmes, Thom Hartmann, and Stephanie Miller remain as many others have left syndication. Osadchey made sure to emphasize that it wasn’t politically motivated decision. No word yet if Saga’s additional Liberal Talkers in Bellingham WA, Brattleboro VT, and Springfield MA will make similar moves away from the format.

It seemed like a flawed business plan to go on the air and rant against the country, free enterprise and capitalism all day while trying to get businesses to advertise on the stations.
Not only that, when they are mostly broadcasting to people who don't work, what are they gonna buy?
A: Because most listeners are people driving to and from work.

WJIB AM 740 in Cambridge MA (soon to simulcast on FM) runs standards and easy listening.Owner of the one man station is a big Bernie backer who does some lefty political commentary.While the station is technically commercial he doesn’t run ads,
preferring to fundraise a la NPR and that keeps it going.
Recently someone posted on their facebook group that they liked the music but wouldn’t listen anymore due to the “democratic socialist” propaganda.
I bet replacing liberal talk with simple white noise would get more listenership.

Cell phones, lottery tickets, beer, wine, cigarettes, coffee, sodas and chips. Furniture they can’t afford, cars they can’t pay for, drugs...

AA was awful... tried to listen objectively as possible...and it was not listenable.
They have NPR although hopefully not for too much longer.
