Donald Trump has urged his supporters to "watch the polling booths" on Nov. 8, a rallying cry that has election officials worrying and training for how to deal with guns or possible attacks at the polls.
It is an unprecedented situation; in fact, most states don't even have laws governing guns at polling places, sending election officials scrambling to sort through their states various open-carry and concealed weapons laws, The Washington Post reports.
"We've never seen this level of concern, this far out from Election Day poll workers in states across the country being trained to deal with guns," Everytown for Gun Safety spokeswoman Erika Soto Lamb said.
In Colorado, for example, poll workers are being trained on how to respond to a mass shooting at the voting site. In Philadelphia, election commissioner Lisa Deeley is also considering training law enforcement officers on what to do if someone open fires. "It's one of the many things that we are contemplating prior to election day," Deeley told The Guardian. "There's a lot that we have to hash out, and it's a new unfortunate reality that we have to think about these things."

The conspiracy theorist in me, makes me wonder what the Democrats are planning on November 8th
They’ve got more to fear from an islamist attack on a polling station using pressure cookers ...
or even just a bunch of Democratic agents hired by Obama and Hillary pal Robert Creamer to beat up voters
This has become the most ridiculous thing in New Hampshire.
Open carry is legal here, and in some communities parents have demanded schools be closed on Election Day (so we don’t shoot the children).
Some districts have actually complied. But it’s not enough.
Some idiot has introduced a bill in the Legislature to ban guns at polling places (so we don’t shoot the children, or anyone else, I guess).

Ahh. So, its a bold-faced lie. Mmmkay.
“Poll workers are being trained to prepare for guns at polling stations”
Guns in polling places are perfectly legal in MI.
I remember the “Black Panthers” standing in front of the voting place with batons and their “NWA” intimidating the voters....but that is okay
If they wont let you carry conceal, jus carry batons like the New Black Panthers did. Like to see the response to that from Obama’s DOJ. Better yet dress like a Black Panther and see what happens....: )
To paraphrase Barack Hussein...
“If they bring a baton to the polling place, we bring a gun”
I’ll be carrying mine - just to make a point. Always have.
My suggestion for electronic voting is that everyone who votes has a random number generated and associated with their vote, and they get a copy of this number at the time they vote. Each voting location in the US would have its own ‘zip code’ type of prefix to the randomly generated number, so that any duplicate numbers that are generated nationally can be sorted out on the basis of location. Then, all of the numbers, and the vote that was cast using that number are made available online nationally in a searchable database. So anyone can look up their number and make sure that the vote associated with it was the one they actually cast. Also, if the totals of candidate A vs B don’t add up as the same that is reported, you would have proof of tampering.
A crowded polling place would be a wonderful target for a Jihadist car bomb or a couple of Moslems with rifles.
OH BULLS**T. IN COLORADO 2 counties, Denver and Arapahoe (next to Denver) have discussed active shooter training concerns with poll workers (according to a guardian USA posting at FR yesterday). Denver and Aurora (aka Saudi Aurora in Arapahoe county) have higher crime rates. I have not heard this anywhere else. In my county near Denver it never came up in training. You cannot open carry in my polling place but I will be conceal carrying my GLOCK and other edc stuff plus have my edc bag. I am sure some voters will ccw too. I have my plan just in case.
“In Philadelphia, election commissioner Lisa Deeley is also considering training law enforcement officers on what to do if someone open fires.”
You would think that LEOs are already trained on what to do.
Remember this the COMPOST that we are talking about here with the article.
On the cusp of their final victory, you don't seriously think they are going to give up now, do you?
To heck with wearing red. Let’s all just carry canes. Not the lightweight aluminum ones. Good heavy wooden canes.
And if you’re into conceal or even open carry, go for it where you are allowed.
There are a large number of specified Government offices that can receive a ballot in person if you want to deliver them that way.
Precinct polling places are a faded memory.
Election judges are clerks, hired from a temp agency to supplement full-time county and city employees who staff the election processing organizations.
There are many volunteers, of course. The population has changed. Ballot collection goes on for several weeks before the final cutoff on November 8 (It is happening now). That is a much greater time commitment than the one or two days that were formerly required.
Laws only apply to the extremely rare conservative black person and republicans. Holder threw out this lawsuit, and Comey has declared democrats immune to prosecution.
When I lived in NH (2004-2005), my polling place was the local elementary school.
The Gun-Free School Zones Act prohibits open carry within 1,000' of school grounds. It allows concealed carry on school grounds only when there is a contract between the carrier and the school.
Also, with respect to concealed carry, if you are carrying in a state with reciprocity to yours, your concealed carry permit does not allow for carry within 1,000' of a school in that state.
The federal law states that you must have a permit issued by the state in which the school is located.
