The Reporting of Trump’s PTSD Comments Shows Why His Supporters Hate the Media

Trump's response makes perfect sense to somebody putting out a sales pitch, and the outrage is completely phony.

Trump is suggesting that the folks in the crowd are strong as he pivots to the discussion of mental health issues, because, frankly, a lot of people who need help don't actually want to admit it.

He's providing an answer to these veterans without suggesting to them that any of them in particular need to take advantage of it.

It's actually a clever way of approaching the discussion that somebody with Trump's background might understand and somebody who has spent his or her life in public administration might not. He's selling access to a mental health service while grasping that the people who may need it are very reluctant to admit it.

"This is for those other guys, not you guys," he's saying. But you would have to be pretty dense (or deliberately disingenuous) to think that Trump was unaware that there are people in that room who need help with PTSD.

They’ve got some Hillary supporters, claiming to be vets, posted outside Trump Tower. He said nothing wrong and, really, quite the opposite. He was very kind and sensitive in his remarks. Hillary gets vets maimed and killed.

It’s really getting to the point where I think Trump could sue some of these outlets for libel. Yes, he’s a public figure. However, at some point, this behavior by the press rises to “absolute malice” or “reckless disregard for the truth.”

It’s getting to the point where Trump could say “I love puppies” and the headline reads “Trump Admits He’s Into Bestiality.” Meanwhile Hillary is killing a basket full of puppies with a hammer and they don’t care.

Yep and if you check the social media hits, the media epic-ally failed. NO ONE cares about this other then the manufactured hysterics in the Leftist directed media. It is generating no hits outside the paid Clinton campaign staff.

I read the entire statement and it is very clear that Trump is strongly supportive of reforming the VA to get better mental health care for vets. The media really are all in for the Dems this year. Worst I’ve seen.

I am seriously starting to think--and let me make clear I am not advocating for this--that at some point the media is actually going to get people so upset and frustrated by the corruption, outright lies and complete alignment with one party government that there is going to be physical violence directed at journalists. Someone or some group, after years of feeling powerless in the face of the media/DNC complex, is going to notice that the media kowtows to Islam because of fear of terrorism and decide that it may be time to shoot up a few newsrooms in an attempt to stop the lies.

Look we need that so badly and when you… when you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat and they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over and you’re strong and you can handle it. But a lot of people can’t handle it. And they see horror stories. They see events that you couldn’t see in a movie, nobody would believe it.

Now we need a mental health help and medical. And it’s one of the things that I think is least addressed and is one of the things that — like your question — one of the things that I hear the most about when I go around and talk to the veterans. So we’re going to have a very, very robust, level of performance having to do with mental health. We are losing so many great people that can be taken care of if they have proper care.

You know when you hear the 22 suicides a day it’s a big part of your question. But when you hear the 22 suicides a day that should never be. That should never be. So we’re going to be addressing that very strongly and the whole mental health issue is going to be a very important issue when I take over and the V.A. is going to be fixed in so many ways but that’s going to be one of the ways we’re going to help.

And that’s in many respects going to be the number one thing we have to do. Because I think it’s really been left behind. OK? Thank you very much.

I was listening to the conference yesterday live. Trump was asked by a retiree who had gone through PTSD and was now helping other vets with their needs if he would support faith-based veteran’s initiatives and would his administration allocate funding for them.

His response was directed to the questioner. His tone was empathetic, caring, and you could tell the issues of veteran’s suicides impacted him deeply.

The MSM is grabbing at anything they can to discredit Trump. While he is sometimes not the world’s greatest orator, you can tell his concern is sincere.

I thought he did an excellent job of connecting with the vets in the room not telling them what they want to hear, but genuinely telling them what he’d do if elected President.
