Earlier today, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy started a filibuster on the Senate floor on the subject of gun violence. Murphy has been perhaps the most passionate gun safety advocate since the Sandy Hook shooting occurred in his home state in 2012. Over the past few hours, Sen. Murphy has been joined by a number of his colleagues including Pat Toomey. Pennsylvanias junior Senator has been one of the few Republican members to advocate in favor of gun safety measures. Im of the view that its time to get something done here, Toomey began. Weve done a lot of talking. Sen. Toomey used his time to explain why he voted against a bill earlier this year that wouldve prevented those on the terrorist watch list from buying a gun, as the McGinty campaign has been critical of that vote recently. The Senator asserted that he was concerned that the previous legislation made it too difficult for someone put on the list in error to be allowed to purchase a gun.

We need an edit button.....ok year should be years....Toovey should be Toomey.
Remove him from office. He is a traitor to the constitution. I knew he was weak.
I am so glad you knew as well. So many here were so blinded by their hatred towards Santorum that they welcomed the snake into the Senate with open arms. It was a disgrace and quite frankly whatever happens with gun control is on them. I think it is rather amazing that the very folks that don’t want gun control the most were the ones who love Toomey. I couldn’t write a better script on stupidity.
Don’t forget: this shitbird Toomey was playing footsie with the execrable Joe Manchin years ago. His treason is not new.
Toomey succeeded Specter, not Santorum, who backed Specter. PA people got it wrong.
Toomey was already endorsing “gays” in the military before he took his Senate seat from Specter.
Ban moslems NOT MY GUNS!!
Somewhere between the House and the Senate, Toomey moved to the left.
Any idea what happened to him?
IIRC, he was a very conservative Congressman.
I’m not a Toomey fan, but Santoroum was far from kicked to the curb here in PA. He was up against a tough opponent when he lost his seat (that lazy moron Casey is living off his family’s name ... his father was an extremely popular Dem governor ... his son cashed in on that ... consider his seat a lifelong appointment).
Moreover, the GOP here in PA completely bailed on him and Arlen Spector stabbed him in the back after Rick endorsed him in the previous PA Senatorial election.
Last but not least, the 2006 midterms were a wave election for the liberals. Rick is a staunch social conservative. Add all of that up and you get a 20 point shellacking in a left of center (thanks to Philadelphia and most of Pittsburgh) state. Casey barely had to run ads in major markets.
The likely opponent of Toomey is going to be a gun grabber that makes Toomey look like the NRA chairman. After this stunt he pulled today, he may as well save the campaign funds and resign. He lost his base today if this news is true. He’ll get walloped regardless of any coattails Trump might have.
The same thing that always happen to conservatives when they get to Washington.
Rand and Cruz should join the filibuster to troll and demonize the filibuster movements on the senate floor.
Who bought him?
Is the OA senate primary over get ?.
If not Trump needs to campaign for his person and Toomey will freak
Tonight I remember my long-gone grandfather and uncle from up Port Royal way in central Pennsylvania, who used to love to go hunting in the lovely mountain country there - how sad they’d no longer be appropriately represented by either of their senators....
Obvious typos are not an issue and no need for a post correction.
lol. That would be funny.
ok. Thank you.
Sad how things have changed for us that our grandparents were able to enjoy. We have hardly any rights that our previous generations have. And the politics....holy cow. Although in my Grandparents case, FDR was President during a good part of their lives. They were born in 1915 so they did vote at the time of FDR and I am not sure if they voted for him or the Republican......parties were so different back then.
