For four decades, the National Rifle Association has pumped millions of dollars into federal elections, supporting both Republican and Democratic candidates who voted in accordance with the gun group’s strict view of the Second Amendment.

That era is over.

During the last federal election cycle, in 2014, the gun group’s spending on behalf of Democrats dwindled to virtually nothing, even as its overall election-related spending soared to more than $32 million, an analysis by the Daily News and The Trace found.

Full Header: "NRA is now almost entirely a pro-Republican group, spending more money than ever to ensure Congress doesn’t enact any gun safety laws"

In partnership with "the Trace". LOL! Well that's certainly an unbiased source. Notice they say "...gun safety laws...." In keeping with the Anti gun playbook.

The Democrat Party is now an almost entirely anti-American group.

Sell, maybe I should re-instate my membership. I dropped them when I found out they were giving money to RATs who said they were for the 2A!

I see.

If you’re a liberal you think organizations should be forced to spend millions to elect people who have vowed to destroy them.

Ummmm, yeah, big shocker there you super-clever mainstream journalists!
If alive today, JFK would be considered part of the vast right wing conspiracy.

You actually improved on what I was about to say (that the Democrat Party is basically an anti gun group).

If I have to choose between a pro-gun dem and a anti-gun Rhino, I’ll go with the anti-gun Rhino every time.

That one pro-gun dem may make the difference as to whether the dems get a majority, which WILL pass more anti-gun laws.

And what party do the American Trial Lawyers support almost exclusively? How about the AFL-CIO? AARP? Hollywood? The NAACP? Planned Parenthood?

It's not odd that a group would tend to support the party and the candidates that align with its beliefs. That fewer and fewer Democrats admit to being pro-gun might be at the root of the NRA's dwindling support for that treasonous cabal of misfits and freaks.

Wow, the NRA has stopped being even handed. Pretty shocking. I thought the same thing when they did that big story on how the Teamsters allocate their contributions. Oh wait, that will never happen.

And Planned Parenthood is 100% Democrat. They spend more money than ever in lobbying and bribing and favors to keep their business of genocide at the forefront of murder most foul.

The Democrat party has become the communist party.
They do want to take guns away from citizens.
There aren’t any pro-2nd Amendment Democrats left.

As far as I know Rep Karen Thurman (D FL) who’s district encompassed the area around Gainesville and Ocala was one of the last Dems the NRA endorsed.

That’s just silly. All of those “organizations” are only working for the good of the people. Folks like the NRA, GOA, JPFO, Citizens United..........they’re all evil and just want to help enslave people. :)

That’s true. And while we are enjoying the dissolution of the establishment wing of the GOP, we really ought to be hoping for the collapse of the Democrat party as it currently exists. The country can’t survive with one its major parties being captured by a defacto communist conspiracy. There have to be enough Democrats troubled by their leadership to fight back.

"......maybe I should re-instate my membership. I dropped them when I found out they were giving money to RATs who said they were for the 2A!"

Yes you should. It was (and is) important for the NRA to maintain the appearance of "party politics neutrality", just as it is for the gun-grabbers to maintain the appearance of NOT supporting civilian gun elimination. In both cases the reality is different....though for different reasons.

The NRA really does support Democrats who are not anti-Second Amendment....but the Democrats have tossed virtually all of those out of their party.

The gun-grabbers really do support allowing gun usage "only for law enforcement and the military".

Hmmmm...you mean you can’t easily call to mind the perfidious endorsement of Hairy Reid at his last election or Joe Manchin who immediately turned around to stab them in the back? You don’t recall the rhubarb over Reid and all the NRA suits in VA/DC telling us rubes in flyover country about how his support of a shooting range in NV on federal land was worth the endorsement?
