... There appears to be a troubling trend within the VA. As of December 2015, almost 99 percent of the names listed on the 'mental defective' category for the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, otherwise known as the national gun-ban list, are from the Veterans Administration. Once a person's name is on that list, they are banned from owning or possessing a firearm. Their Second Amendment rights are completely null and void...

Why the hell aren’t DemocRAT voter registrations and men caught using women’s restrooms added to that list?!
A revolution will be much more difficult to conduct without experienced warfighters. I don’t believe for one moment that this isn’t just another plank in the power grab.
As a non Veteran, I say that their fault in the abominators’ eyes is that they are formed as Corps in the principles of honor and loyalty. They are therefore most highly resistent to corruption. They must be neutralized so that this country’s internal enemies can impose their tyranny, which they will do with guns.

Please don’t use the liberal coined term “warfighter”.
It plays into the hands of the socialists.
Yup!
Cant have pesky veterans possibly fighting against all powerful fedgov in cwii/rwii.
They are also mostly male, and mostly white. Do not think these are two huge factors ohole overlooked.
They are using a letter of understanding between the aft,va & dept of [IN]justice under the Brady handgun control act of 1993. And I have been in this mess for the last 11 years fighting it. But ALL I get is lip service from the nra, my “so called” elected officials, NO lawyer will take up the cause & NO court will hear my pleas. I could give up ALL my veteran benefits to get my 2 Amend. Rights restored. All you have to do is become 100% disabled [listed as] & then have a fiduciary assigned, and BLAM they got you by the short curlies. In my case the va rep went around to all my neighbors, friends & family & had them sign off on a letter that they understood as long as I was around they were NOT to have a fire arm either & I am subject to random “health & comfort” inspections UNANNOUNCED of course, just to see if I am ok, but gives them a reason to snoop around.
But there is a huge loophole in the aft regulations. They do NOT consider Air Rifles to be dangerous/lethal. So I may have air rifles. Poor bastards, little do they understand the first military semi automatic rifle was an air rifle, the Girardoni air rifle & it was used against Napoleon by the Austrians, & by the Lewis and Clark journey of discovery across the country.
Vets don’t answer any questions of the VA without thinking first, and then say NO. Don’t let them use you for political agenda.
As old Filimino Imperial used to say “Tink, Tink, Tink!
Just,
DANG!
Actually, it’s a God-given right. They have not been deprived of it. They have simply been denied the exercise of that right by criminals and traitors.
The mentally deficient should not be able to purchase a firearm.
That's the law. And it always has been.
I can imagine the vets going into the VA when they cycle home or out. The Docs tell him he has to see someone to set up appts and see what his needs are, and that complete honesty is needed for a proper diagnosis. These men and women are honest, and trust those higher in the chain of command. Once they are maneuvered into a position where they are self describing as in need of drugs to help their minds heal, they are then shuttled off to further psych testing. Is it really 22 veterans of the “wars on terror” really doing suicide every day? It is the drugs to blame, just as it is the policy of the military to keep them medicated and unarmed.
another fact overlooked in this discussion is the mental condition of the individuals involved.
diagree strongly.
most people with fiduciaries are not incapable of handling firearms safely
but either way, such a regulation is a serious and unconstitutional deprivation of American citizens’ rights
...”the right of the People to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” .... even when you and I might agree it would be desirable if some other person maybe should not have a firearm to defend himself or his family....
I had no idea it was a liberal term, I meant it respectfully. I think the Dept of Defense should go back to being the Dept of War.
“The mentally deficient should not be able to purchase a firearm.”
There is a distinction to be made between being mentally deficient, and the VA deeming one to be mentally deficient with little or no validity.
Note they do not remove the firearms that they already own, they simply do not allow them to make any new purchases.
This needs to cease when Trump takes the helm.
Pretty flimsy approach to infringing on Constitutional and God given rights if you ask me.
No surprise at all. Obama’s actions may seem foolish, but the grand design is calculated. This POS knows exactly what he’s doing.
Something is terribly wrong with the White House. Hoping this is not true.
