In case anyone is unaware: All this talk about "1237 delegates means Trump is the nominee" is BUNK.
That so-called "rule" is a temporary rule that can be changed at the convention. Therefore, Trump is not guaranteed the nomination even if he gets 1237, or 1400, or even 2000 delegates.
They can change the rule to suit their #NeverTrump plan, and make the requirement 1 delegate more than however many Trump has.
On the O'Reilly Factor tonight, Eric Bolling confirmed this. There are 42 convention rules in the rule book. Rules #26 through #42 are Temporary Rules that are written and voted on at the convention. The rule about 1237 delegates falls under Rule 40 D & E. That means they can change the requirement to 2000 delegates if they want to.
Make no mistake: They plan to steal the election from Trump and put in their own people: Ryan, Romney, Rubio, Bush, etc. For those of you who support Cruz or Kasich, please wake up. It won't be Cruz, and it won't be Kasich.

The 1237 Rule Can (and will) Be Changed At The Convention

Please don't be #NeverTrump.
Trump isn't perfect. But he's the only possible change from the status quo.
Amen! Sing it out again!
Who gets to vote and how many votes does it take to change a rule at the convention?
IT is over go look at Trump’s Facebook posts. All recent are promoting the RNC and his new logo.
Unfortunately, the cruzbots have not only been duped that their candidate can win by popular vote they also have been duped that their candidate can win in a contested convention...stealing the nomination from the rightful winner, Donald Trump.
Personally, I say let the chips fall where they may...I am voting Trump this November.
Fine, but it matters not. Trump’s goal is to get the most delegates, period, however many that is. And he’s hired the best vote counter in the business to run his state convention operaions where they can steal him blind, as in Louisiana. Fool Trump once, shame on you...try to fool him again and you’ll be up against the best.
I have a rule too...its for 48 years I have voted and I will vote in November for whomever I choose and if i choose to vote for Trump if you decide I am an idiot for choosing him none of your 47 rules can stop me now or then and there is not a damn thing you can do about it..so go sit in your uniparty circle and smoke whatever it is you smoke and stay out of voting booth...

No matter what Trump gets, they will find a way to stop him.
The Bernie folk are talking riots. I think this summer will be historic.
I hope I am wrong.
The delegates, and a simple majority.
Which is why the premise of this article is silly: if Trump goes into the convention with 1237 votes (and I think he probably will), his delegates are not going to vote to require more than 1237 votes for the nomination. If he goes into the convention with fewer than 1237 delegates, there will be no need to change the rule to stop Trump.
Hmm, a lot of things that have happened in this election have been called an embarrassment to our democracy or our country. This constant talk about not having rules for the convention before campaigning/primaries begin is the biggest embarrassment. We have an election, and nobody knows what the actual rules are or where the goalposts are. There is an RNC person from somewhere (SD or Montana I think), with the name Haughland (I think), who keeps saying that if the party does not decide then the convention is irrelevant. I would be okay with getting rid of those things.
Blah, Blah, Blah.
Just filler for the networks to fill time between the Primaries to keep interest.
Boring.
Next.
Go Trump
But if trump fell short of 1237 you would would be fine with changing the rule so trump wins the nomination, right? (I thought so)
Trump is now raising funds for the RNC the Primary is over.
Neither Trump nor his supporters are snow white in this back-and-forth because they were advocating an alteration in the rule to their advantage. Equally, the establishment will be inviting a revolution if they raise the required number.
If no candidate succeeds in gaining a majority, the war in the convention begins. That means horsetrading or buying delegate votes and the candidate with a long history of buying politicians is Donald Trump. Look for Trump to cut a deal with the establishment to gain the nomination.
Seems to me that could work the other way as well.
The Committee could say less than 1237 delegates is required for the first ballot nomination, an dpick a new number.
A lot can happen between now and July. In fact, the next meeting of the Rules Committee is in April.
I’ve voted Republican since 1980. If they give the nomination to anyone but the guy with the most delegates and votes I never will again. I won’t play in a rigged game.
I’m with ya Lex. We can have a party on Lexington Green or at Monmouth when we win with Trump.
If Trump doesn’t get 1237 then he either overestimated his strength or was too proud to make a deal before the convention to get the 1237... either way tough luck for Trump.

The chairman indicated that the message was sent to Trump that he needed to support the nominee and keep his pledge.
