We went to two authoritative databases of campaign finance data to examine Fergusons numbers: OpenSecrets.org, to find federal donations, and FollowtheMoney.org, for state-level donations.
Trump has actually been relatively evenhanded in doling out cash to the two parties, but since 1989, hes contributed over $350,000 more to Republicans running for federal and state offices, campaign finance records show.
Data from the Federal Election Commission and state elections offices provided by the two websites show that Trump has given $584,850 to Democrats and $961,140 to the GOP over the last 26 years.
The difference in donations is almost entirely captured in Trumps recent giving. Since 2012, Trump has donated $463,450 to Republicans and just $3,500 to Democrats (California Attorney General Kamala Harris and New York Assemblyman Michael Benedetto).
Weve included those numbers below, with links to records of the individual contributions.

Buttering the bread.
All you need to know about Trump’s priorities: Trump contributed to Harry Reid in 2010 - when he was running against Sharron Angle, the Tea Party candidate.
this is NOT going to fit the narrative of those embarking on the Canadian Cruz
it is obvious you are not a conservative /s
Trump donated to Ted Cruz.
He knows what he is doing
Non Story. Any business man in New York will do this . Anyone who doesnt understand it is a complete imbecile.
Trump gives to anyone he thinks can help in his business. He makes deals. Making deals with the Republicans, or making deals with Democrats, doesn’t matter to him.
I thought we didn’t want any more deals in Washington. We wanted them stopped. Seems some Freepers have changed their minds.
Yawn...
You haven't provided proof of that.
Good. So this can be put to bed. Dumbest issue ever considering he is a businessman. Oh well Cruzers are desperate. This probably won’t satisfy them. Their hero Romney is getting a lot of good press today from Cruz supporters.

By most anti-Trump markers, I don't even have the intellectual prowess to think for myself or make decisions on my own.
“All you need to know about Trumps priorities: Trump contributed to Harry Reid in 2010 - when he was running against Sharron Angle, the Tea Party candidate.”
So? Are you dense in the head. Nevada....Las Vegas Trump was a business man. Has a Trump Hotel there . If he didnt , do you know what the dems would do to it?
Unbelievably niave of you. Grow up and leave mommys basement. Its obvious you have no business skills.
Who but levin and beck give a flyin F?
I posted this because I was listening to Levin tonight and he kept referring to Trump as "subsidizing" Reid and Pelosi, etc., etc. A donation is not a subsidy, but apparently it is in Levin's world.
“I thought we didnt want any more deals in Washington.”
Do you want a dictator?
Of course you need deals in Washington. But you need deals where our side wins.
Trump did donate to Cruz in 2012 and supported and donated to McCain in 08 and Romney in 2012.
Well, a lie is a lie, and I have been so disappointed in Levin these past months.
Good grief: Trump was a businessman, so what he did is economically rationale. You want to re-develop a Golf course resort and there are some EPA regs that don’t protects the environment and slow economic development. You have made donations to a politician and you say he Congressman X, Senator Y, Mayor Z, can you clear this red tape and you know what it gets done.
Trump as a business man is doing what every other big business guy does and what politicians do.
On the other hand, Trump as a candidate has not taken any money from Industry or Business, nor PACs nor foreign governments (which I bet Hillary has) and some of the RNC establishment politicians as well.
Its like with this politicians that they think every trade deal negotiated by the U.S. was done 100% correct.
Poll FReep: If the election were held today, who would be your first choice for President of the United States?
