As someone who lived 27 years in East Asia, I know what a rich seam Trump is tapping into as he focuses on Americaâs trade disaster. For two generations already, increasingly pathetic American trade officials have turned a blind eye to the blatant barriers facing American exports in key foreign markets. One result has been a tragic roll-call of factory closures in the American heartland. Another result, as Trump has insistently pointed out, is that other nations literally laugh at the United States. They think of the U.S. government as idiotic where it is not corrupt....

We’re being economically gang banged.
In his sermons, Sen. Cruz hardly even mentions economics, jobs, trade etc.
I would have liked to go to the Forbes site but they wanted me to turn off my add blocker. I am not turning off my add blocker for anyone.

It’s now or never , Trump now more than ever
The good news for Trump from the FR standpoint is that the management is not banning people who support him.
You should’ve seen the flame war eight years ago over Giuliani. Or four years ago against mitt Romney.
FYI, if you’ve got an adblocker don’t bother clicking on the link. IT’s blocked!
The CFR makes our trade policies. Most politicians main job is getting reelected.
Both Trump and Sanders have their roots in Brooklyn. Trump is the classic neighborhood street fighter. Sanders is the local wimp. Sanders has been unable to attack Hillary for being corrupt, dishonest and having no accomplishments. He has no stomach to really fight and win the nomination. What Trump did to Bush, Cruz and Rubio is nothing compared to what he will do to Hillary to win the Presidency.
“The good news for Trump from the FR standpoint is that the management is not banning people who support him.”
Perhaps JR supporting Trump has a bit to do with that.
Many people who - like me - don’t have a very deep understanding of international trade and economics, still recognize that something has been very wrong for a long time. They also realize that if anyone does understand those things, it’s a man like Trump.
This is where a lot of his support is coming from, despite so many efforts to mark us all as xenophobes because we plainly also want ‘The Wall’.

I use firefox with ad block plus. I got a blank white page, but no article and I’m like you, I’m not turning off the ad blocker.
I had to take a break from FR in 2012 because of the fighting. I voted for Romney, but couldn’t bring myself to defending him.
But this election season has me riveted.
JR and the mods have done a wonderful job of letting everyone just run with it. Aside from the few time-out. and a couple of lightning bolts. All well deserved for getting more than carried away with the personal attacks, and pretty much all of them anti-Trumpers.
That’s what Sen. Sessions cited in favor of Trump to Mark Levin last week — trade and immigration.
In fairness to Sanders:
1. I wish and pray that I would have that kind of energy when I’m 74.
2. at least he is honest. Truth in advertising. He is a socialist and is brave enough to campaign based on his sincere beliefs.
The fact that twentysomething year-old’s who majored in art history and have $200,000 of student debt and support him is not his fault. They have no real world experience. They are idealists and don’t know how the story ends with socialism.
They will point to Denmark, Sweden, Finland as examples of the success of democratic socialism. What they don’t understand is that these are wealthy, homogenous small countries where everybody knows each other.
Socialism works well in a small community where people care about each other and have the same goals and interests.
It will not work in a country with people from all over the world with different cultures, values when you can’t even agree that killing a baby is wrong, or you should be able to drink a 64 ounce big gulp and at 7-Eleven filled with Coca-Cola because some politician thinks it should be against the law.
Ditto.
And our so-called civil servants have been pimping us out for it.
I won’t turn mine off either .... I have found that sometimes if you copy the title & put it in your browser, you’ll find other ways to get to the article.
This one just worked for me:
