A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll in Iowa finds Donald Trump has pulled ahead of Ted Cruz with a seven point lead among likely Iowa GOP caucus-goers, 32% to 25%.

Key finding: "The poll also shows Trump in a close race with Cruz among likely voters who are white Evangelical Christians, 31% to 28%. The two candidates have been battling over the influential bloc of voters in the state, with each touting endorsements from Evangelical heavyweights in recent days."

In the Democratic race, Hillary Clinton remains just three points in front of Bernie Sanders, 48% to 45%.

i just saw a stupid poll that ABC was touting on who people THOUGHT was going to win.

that must be because rump is beating hillary.

the only reason they would post such a stupid poll.

he’s not my first choice but he’s going to win the primary and the election.

the left and a million progressive groups can’t even bring a lawsuit to stop it. their @#$@$# judges cant help them now

I noticed the usual mass of poll postings is not appearing this morning.
What's more, the poll found that Mr. Trump has inspired deep support: three-quarters of Trump backers in Iowa say they are strongly committed to their choice of candidate, compared with only 58% of Cruz supporters. Similar gaps show up among voters in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Hey, I'm a Trump guy, but I want to know when the poll was taken, and I don't see that in the article.

The debate thing can cut both ways. Good and bad. I've been waiting to see how the voters respond.

Let’s just save everyone time and money by annointing Trump and Hillary as the respective nominees of their parties. Surely the pollsters (like political consultants) know what is best for we the peasants. /sarc

Why not a real poll? Are they trying to get the results they want? (yes they are)

The Iowa poll, conducted Jan. 24-26 included interviews with 426 likely Democratic caucusgoers, for whom the margin of error was plus or minus 4.6 percentage points. It also included 450 likely Republican caucusgoers and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.

Evangelicals are all in for Donald....and here/s the reasons why.

<><> an evangelical leader told BOR that his congregation rose en masse to applaud Trump/s promise to bomb the crap out of Christian-hating ISIS. Another 200,000 later downloaded the Trump comments from the pastor/s web site.

<><> The "smiling Muslim I'm your friend" act is lethal.....its how Obama duped his way into the WH.

THE MUSLIM DOCTRINE OF TAQIYYA...ITS OKAY TO LIE TO AN INFIDEL...For those with a discerning eye, taqiyya is all around us. Muslim refugees have pretended to convert to Christianity; an Islamic gunman gained entrance inside a church by feigning interest in Christian prayers. Examples abound on a daily basis.

<><> In Turkey, to get close enough to a Christian pastor to assassinate him, a group of Muslims including three women feigned interest in Christianity, attended his church for over a year, and even participated in baptism ceremonies.

Said the pastor: These people had infiltrated our church and collected information about me, my family and the church and were preparing an attack against us. Two of them attended our church for over a year and they were like family.

The friendly Muslim act hid their savage scheme.....to brutally kill the Christian pastor.

can you imagine. up until last week i would have been one of those who was voting for trump but thought hillary was gonna win, (hadn’t looked at the polls in a while).

so my vote would have been construed as supporting hillary!!!

because trump is too unstable??

what they mean is a number of people think OTHER people think trump is too unstable, which means NOTHING!!

i dont hide my support for Cruz but i’m gonna vote trump in the generals and he’s gonna win, quite easily i think.

GWB/s infamous Islam is a religion of peace statement-—shows how easily Bush was duped into believing that these medieval feudal Mideast misfits needed just a taste of democracy to change course.....against the reality of centuries-old sectarian feuding, internecine warfare, deep-seated intractable hatreds and pathological social instability of these people.

I am noticing that Fox is really promoting Rubio this morning. After reading about Murdoch’s support of Rubio on Breitbart, everything is falling into place.

The fix was in for the debate - attack Trump, promote Rubio. Hat’s off to Mr. Trump for seeing the ambush coming and avoiding it. Well played.

The debate thing can cut both ways. Good and bad. I've been waiting to see how the voters respond.

This is where I get frustrated with Trump. Why didn't he tell people about the three youtube creeps they were going to bring in to question? I'm sure he knew because he kept saying there are things we don't know. Well, tell us!

Didn't affect my opinion except to increase my support but his decision on debate is being painted negative by every single channel, paper, article, whatever.

Liz, the major reason I’m supporting The Donald is because of his stance on illegal immigration - particularly as it will effect muslim “refugees”. Anyone who reads the foreign press knows that we are in a life and death struggle with islam. Donald - who works on instinct and common sense rather than reading endless white papers and policy wonk essays - gets this. I do not believe that Cruz has the guts to fight this stuff. He’s a Texas-by-way-of-Harvard Law School hot house flower who will wilt in a national race.

Migrants are 'using multiple identities' to claim asylum and hide from previous arrests in Germany
Daily Mail ^ | 1/22/16 | Darren Boyle / FR Posted by Libloather

A pair of Algerian asylum seekers living in Germany and suspected of robbing an elderly woman's handbag used multiple identities to claim asylum and hide previous arrests. The pair, aged 17 and 31 told police in Essen, western Germany they had fled war-torn Syria after they were arrested on suspicion of stealing the 63-year-old woman's handbag. However, police soon discovered that both men, whose names have not been released, had been arrested on a number of previous occasions using different identities.
