Florida Gov. Jeb Bush defended negative ads that a super PAC supporting him has run against his rivals, saying that "politics isn't beanbag."
During a town hall event here Saturday night, Mr. Bush took a question from a voter who said he'd grown tired of overwhelmingly negative ads that are now blanketing the airwaves in New Hampshire, Iowa and other early primary states.
"I bet you have a lot of them," Mr. Bush joked in return.

“politics isn’t beanbag.”
This guy is the absolutely worst. The worst. EVery single thing about him bothers me, and it did from day one.
He was never going to win this. If Trump hadn’t entered the picture, he would eventually be where he’ll end up.. and that is dead last.
Anyone sending money to him or his pac is stupid.
Negative ads are so much the standard throughout our history that nobody should have to either remark upon them or defend them.
Journalism during a campaign reminds me of journalism during an oil bust (both currently occurring): It's as if it's never happened before.
p.s., I love the billboard.
Jeb, all’s fair when you’re losing, right?
Bush: You can’t insult your way to the White House.
Live under your own rule
This from the crybaby who called Donald Trump a jerk. Momma’s boy.
I’ve said my “job one” here at FR is to help keep Jeb Bush from getting the nomination (there are others like Rubio, Kasich and Christie, too).
He is part of a cabal of masquerading elites that lie to their constituents day-in, day-out. They stab us in the back at every turn and completely ignore what their constituents want. They are actually more dangerous than Democrats.
The PTB know that elections are rigged. Sending money to the figurehead of the riggers isn’t stupid. Thinking he (Jeb) would gain popularity was stupid, he’s a shitty figurehead.
It’s easy for a candidate to promise only a positive campaign...until he starts losing. Bush may be bad, Kasich is vile.

Agree with that, but the GOPe has no one else but themselves to blame for TOTALLY MISSING THE BOAT on immigration, and leaving a giant, undefended, policy hole for Trump to walk right through.
He’s probably no worse than his father or brother. It’s just that the predecessors make it far easier to see Jebbie as he is.
That is perfectly true, BUT -- for the Bush camp to be nuking other Republicans is precisely the wrong thing for Jeb to be doing at this point. It doesn't surprise me because the Bush team has completely misread the dynamics of both the GOP and national politics in this cycle. Jeb had great advantages at the outset. He was leading in the polls, he has a creditable record as governor, he was always regarded as the more conservative of the Bush boys, and he had a ton of money and establishment support. He had serious headwinds due to his last name (not his fault) and a couple of sore points with the conservative wing of the party that could probably have been mended if addressed forthrightly and early. Above all, he needed to lead a crusade against the Obama regime and the Democrats. More than anything else, the base is crying out for leadership and a willingness to fight.
With the most expensive advice available on the right, Jeb utterly misread the landscape and defaulted on the central issue of 2016. It would be an exaggeration to say that the nomination was his to lose. He was going to face a strong challenge from the right whatever happened. But he held a lot of high cards, and he could probably have mended many fences on the right had he tried. Not all of them, but possibly enough.
(Really. Just consider: the day before yesterday, Trump was a NYC celebrity liberal, pro-abortion and writing checks to Hillary, and HE has been able to gain absolution from a large part of the right for a lifetime on the other side. Based on their actual records, as opposed to rhetorical style, Jeb is Attila the Hun compared to Trump. But Jeb flunked the leadership test.)
Jeb's last chance in this cycle is to be the last credible non-Trump standing. To do that, he still needs to do what I've outlined above, late though it is, and position himself as the natural home for the voters of other candidates as they drop out. (This, by the way, is what Rubio is attempting to do.) Nuking the other Republicans and alienating their supporters is exactly the wrong thing for Jeb's team to be doing, but I would frankly expect nothing less. They've not read anything right yet.
The RNC/GOP didn’t miss the boat on immigration, they are being paid to thwart the desire of the citizens to stop the illegal alien inundation. Every nomination cycle since the last amnesty has produced an amnesty candidate and it was not accidental.
The Cheap Labor Express owns the RNC/GOP and they are still working to prevent us from electing anyone who would stop them.
The difference being that THEY GOT AWAY WITH IT...until now.
Face it, you're running really hard trying to catch up to Marco Rubio, the guy in 3rd place. You can't even see the guy in first place, he's so far ahead of you.
Stop with the pettiness, it just makes you look weak. Show a little dignity, because that will make you look strong.
I have no problem with negative ads and I have no problem with taking down Rubio, but I wonder what Jeb sees as the strategic advantage in that.
I think the worst is when he backs up NRO and gripes that they were taken off the debates.
He’s the big dumb rich kid in HS that you loved to mess with.
We had one. He pushed and bullied everyone. He was 6 ft tall in 6th grade. Then when day he said something to me, and may have pushed me or something. We were friends, but I think he was like showing off for the bigger kids.
Anyway, I got him in this vice grip head lock like I was trying to throw a steer. I wouldn’t let go until he started turning blue and cried uncle.
Who’s losing?
Who?
