For the second year in a row, all the acting Oscar nominees are white. Thankfully a staffer at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has a solution that might calm those currently up in arms over the controversy.

So far 4 losers aren’t going The Smith’s, Mark Ruffalo, and Spike Lee......who cares. I wouldn’t miss a single one of them.

I saw that the other night and couldn’t for the life of me remember the name of the guy who was “Stewart Bloom” in that skit. He used to do John McCain, too, IIRC.
The solution to this is so simple. All they need are categories for all races and all genders. Problem solved.

I think the entire hubbub was created by Spike Lee, whose latest movie was a stinker from stinkersville in the box office. Right now, at the very bottom of the list. It is called “Chi-Raq”, cost $15m to make and in over a month has made back just $2.6m.

It is just another racist screed. So Lee figures that the only possible way for it to not be a total wash is for him to be given an Oscar for it.
It is even a loser among the black film critics. It won two awards from the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA). It had seven nominations, and no wins, from the Black Reel Awards. And four nominations, no wins, from the Image Awards.
First, the Oscars are a joke, nothing but fake people congratulating other fake people. Second, anyone think that just maybe no blacks earned an Oscar this year — or last. Lets start using the black mindset in other areas. Since blacks are what 13% of the population, then 13% — but no more than13% must/can be represented in any field. Since the blacks don’t want things done by capability or achievement, but by percentage of blacks, then the NFL, NBA etc can have no more black players than 13% or lets say 15% to give them a little extra. That black BS philosophy can cut both ways.

Your point? Actors make up the biggest single group at 22% or so. Doesn’t matter if 88% are techs or not. The whole Hollywood scene is a bunch of phonies and hypocrites as far as I am concerned.

And pray tell how is your average sound mixer and lighting cameraman a phony? It’s mostly a blue collar industry.
