In a rare Oval Office address, President Obama issued a necessary call to action to the nation to snap out of its gun-rights stupor - while vowing to redouble the U.S. war on the death-cult jihadists of ISIS.
Outrageously, his first objective is certain to run into a cement wall in a Congress controlled by a Republican majority that runs errands for the National Rifle Association. And the second strains credibility given his own halting campaign to destroy the terrorist proto-state and those motivated by its radical Islamist ideology.
In the days since the attack in San Bernardino, many have sought to glibly classify the mass murder as either an act of terrorism or as a gun crime.
It was both. Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik were inspired by anti-American ISIS, but they never could have murdered 14 innocents in a manner of minutes had they not be able to arm themselves with the all-American weapons and ammo they obtained thanks to lax gun laws.
Guns and jihadist terrorism go hand in hand, in this case literally.
Yet against all evidence, the true believers in the gun-rights lobby refuse even checking weapons purchasers against the FBI's terrorist watch list.

Every time I read something like this or listen to Obama, I get the urge to go out and buy another gun. This is getting expensive.
Of course, if they didn’t have the guns, they would have focused more on the bombs and may have killed even more?...

Remember the audience for this excrement - they're New Yorkers. New Yorkers really feel this way. They live in an isolated intensely self absorbed narcissistic universe where they're better than anyone else because the live in "the city" They look down on gun ownership because NYC doesn't let them own guns (without a mountain of onerous paperwork). New Yorkers have been exporting their perverted view on guns vie their kongresional reps for decades.
To hell with New York, it's media and it's government loving 0bama backside kissing citizens.
I have a video movie guidebook and it reviews the 1950 classic “Prehistoric Women” with the idea that if you can watch more than five minutes of this movie without changing the channel, you are a very troubled person. I think that this very much applies to the New York Daily news and it’s (whatever is remaining) readership.

When you denigrate an organization that defends the constitution, then you are 5th columnist b@$tards that need to be tarred and feathered.
Every time leftists propose a ban on guns, we must counter by proposing a ban on socialism. We must counter their demands for confiscation of guns with a demand for deportation to Cuba of all socialist-communists. A quid pro quo. For every gun taken away, a socialist or communist must go.
It is the “common sense” thing to do, and they doubly win, because there is strict gun control in Cuba for them to enjoy, and Cuba is the socialist “paradise” they want. So instead of them forcing socialism on us against our will, they need to be sent there so they can revel in it.
It is just “common sense socialism control”.
The only thing vile about the NRA is all the phone calls from their “valued partners” trying to sell me insurance and other crap.
