Although C.L.H had a clean record and was not a defendant in the domestic violence proceeding, which was later voluntarily dismissed in any event, what authorities found out about his collection led to trouble.
On examination by the State Police, five of the guns were considered under New Jersey law to be banned âassault weaponsâ which led to the forfeiture of those firearms and, since that disqualified him from further gun ownership under state law as argued the Cumberland County Prosecutorâs Office, the other 71 guns as well. A local court agreed and ordered the entire collection remain impounded pending appeal.

Don't think it could happen to anyone? Oh yeah, the garden state. Did they bother to look at the Soprano's house for any contraband? Um, hey crispy cream, are you doing anything to stop this abuse of law abiding citizens? crickets..............

Eventually, one of these victims of governmental abuse will react adversely. I suspect the thugs on the left are hoping for that reaction to justify further oppression of the innocent. His first mistake was living in NJ, and everything else followed from that profound error.

There’s nothing cops love more than to score big on a gun bust.
That’s why cops aren’t really your friends.

I feel no sympathy for resident who willingly lives in the Police State of New Jailsey. It’s not like East Berlin before the wall came down...there’s no wall!

Every single goofy gun case I read about is out of NJ.
That tells me something.

How is this any different from having a king or lord of the manor tell you how to live? The man’s committed no crime at all, except not living the way the lieberals want him to.

That’s our approach, too. When we made a recent job change there were a limited number of places to which we were willing to relocate. NJ wasn’t even close to being on the list.

...are you doing anything to stop this abuse of law abiding citizens? He was not a law abiding citizen as he possessed weapons that are unlawful to possess in New Jersey. But the New Jersey law itself is unlawful, as the Law of the Land, the U.S. Constitution, states that the right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

My family had lived in New Jersey for over 300 years but that didn’t stop us all from leaving the state. The last was my Uncle who passed away in 2005.
It has turned into a joke, far greater than “which exit?” It is only a place to remember and be proud of our history there.

I own an “Allen Pepper-box” revolver, invented by Ethan Allen. (No relation to the revolutionary hero>)
It has a patent stamp on the hammer marked 1845.
I will not be taking it to NJ, even though the pistol is a great conversation piece. Six barrels that turn over as the ball is fired.
Mark Twain had a great comment about the revolver in his “Roughing It.” Look it up, it is classic Twain.
It was a favorite of the “49ers” that “rushed” for gold in California.

He is allowed to sell the 71. Anyone willing to buy them and hold onto them until he moves out of the communist state?

“The Nazis had NOTHING on New Jersey state & local authoritays...”
Ironically, during the run-up to WWII, New Jersey was a major hotbed of pro-Nazi sympathy, there were IIRC some Nazi themed summer camps in the mountains, and a German- American “Bund” party.

I own an âAllen Pepper-boxâ revolver, invented by Ethan Allen. I picked up a Turkish version at a flea market in Turkey. I bought it to give to my son, who is a black powder enthusiast. I have no idea when it was last fired before I bought it.
