Common Core backers are sneaking a social and political agenda into nationalized curriculum, say critics, who now have new ammo in a writing lesson plan for teachers that they say gives a slanted perspective of the gun debate.
A study guide dubbed, "The Battle Over Gun Control," authored by KQED, a northern Californian affiliate of National Public Radio, and the nonprofit, taxpayer-subsidized National Writing Project, states that "moderate gun control" measures introduced following the Sandy Hook school massacre were deep-sixed by the "powerful political influence" of the NRA. Second Amendment advocates say the wording, in supplemental material designed to help teachers plan instruction, frames the debate in a one-sided fashion aimed at influencing young minds.

"Are rules and guidelines that were created over 200 years ago still applicable today?
-When a greater number of people in our society own guns, are we safer or more at risk?
-How accurate is this statement: The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

ALL public “education” has a political agenda...
JebEd
There’s less need for re-educations camps if you can brainwash them young.
I’ve watched the Common Core debate for years and have decided that the biggest deception of Common Core, and it has many, is the one about “standards”. Common Core proponents have most of the country believing that there are no standards in education, specifically standard requirements, goals, per grade. I once heard the mighty Bill Bennett parrot that line by asking” “What is wrong with a requirement that a student can do such and such by a particular grade.”
Those standards have been in place for probably 150 years.
Schools have ALWAYS had those standards.
It is the same argument with Obama and background checks for gun purchases. They are already in place.
When you see politicians taking stands to promote laws to obtain what is already on the books, then that is a clue that what they are promoting is a cover to hide a deception.
Get YOUR children out of the government indoctrination centers - NOW!

Judge a man by the company he keeps.
Their “moderate gun control” would have done NOTHING to stop the last several high visibility shootings. But that isn’t their intention. Their intention is to institute universal background checks in order to build a national database of guns and owners. Next they will demand universal registration with warrantless inspections to make sure what you have matches the database. If it doesn’t (and it never will) they will seize all your firearms and ammunition and put you in jail. Then they will make ANY transfer of ANY firearm from anyone to anyone else illegal where your firearms must be turned over to the government upon your death.
Recently, when voting on school board positions, my kids were bored. Younger one asked if I was voting for the person on a sign we passed. I said no, that person supported common core, I’m voting for the person who wants to get rid of common core.
Both kids suddenly were eager for us to vote, Mom, make sure you vote that out, we hate common core math ...
Good timing. My 8th grade son is doing this very assignment now. It’s due Monday and we’ll be working on it over the weekend. The teacher was hostile to his initial outline so I don’t think the final essay will go much better. But my son is not wavering one inch. The instructor has been guiding the kids on how they should answer the questions. She’s a moonbat. My son wants the last sentence to read “Ted Kennedy’s car killed more people than all of my dad’s guns.” Maybe her head will explode.....
