About 60 German universities in Germany are providing free university education to the growing population of refugees who are seeking asylum in the country, German newspaper Handelsblatt reports.
Some universities are offering language tuition, have waived semester fees, provide free student passes for public transport, and give access to hardship and grant funds, according to survey done last month by the German Rectors’ Conference, a voluntary association of state universities.
“Migration is a task for all of society, and universities must do their part,” University of Hildesheim president Wolfgang-Uwe Friedrich explained to Handelsblatt on why he set up the program.
The Washington Post notes that, “German universities have been tuition-free since the beginning of last October. The country offers more than 900 English-language degrees even Americans could pursue for free, with courses ranging from engineering to social sciences.”
According to Handelsblatt, beginning in January 2016, refugees will be allowed to apply for study grants after 15 months of residence, instead of the current four years.
"We are concerned to see that people are reacting with uncertainty to the influx of refugees and that in some places xenophobia is increasing. Through activities like these, universities are making an important contribution to the social integration of refugees and sending out a signal for an open, forward-looking society," Rectors’ President Prof. Dr. Horst Hippler said in a statement.
In the midst of Germany's refugee crisis, and cases of anti-immigrant sentiment, however, many Germans continue to display a different spirit.

Deutschland needs an uprising as does most of Europe....but then, so does America.
There is something to be said for atonement in one’s sins in past wrongs. It is completely different, and wrong, to create new sins in that atonement.
The first mistake is in not treating Islam as a virulent, highly contagious and infectious disease that destroys civilizations.
Of course, the hard-working German taxpayers footing the bill for all of this won’t have enough $$ or energy left over for children of their own. So, they’ll need to import even more migrants to replace them.
It’s all part of the plan.
What can Germany do?
Damned if they do.

Maybe they just figure if it has to happen then they deserve it. Subconsciously.
There’s a lot left out of the story. Just to show up and say you are ready for university classes....won’t happen. You can figure at least six months of language classes and some type of entry exam to ensure your capability is such to make it in the university system.
If you were enrolled in a Damascus University or such....you will still have to make it through the language classes, and it won’t be simple or easy.
Then comes this fact which few people (especially Germans) realize....the population is Germany is shrinking. If they did absolutely nothing, then within twenty-five years...they’d have 65 million people, instead of the 80 million today (2015 numbers). They have absolutely no choice in gathering and getting more people into the population or face problems within the economy or industrial side.
Before anyone hypes Islamic influence and how this could go negatively....remember....you are talking about Germany, where tens of thousands of people lose their religion every single year. A large segment of this Islamic group will dump their religion within the next couple of years. As for the Islamic birth rate and possible negativity that could arise out of that? Funny thing...after any immigrant arrives and figures out the cost of living and income taxes....everyone goes to a one-kid or two-kid family planning situation....even the Muslims. You can’t afford big families.
They don’t all feel that way. I have a SIL who moved out of the state (their equivalent) from Wiesbaden to the next one over. The reason? The old one kissed Turk Muslim butt to the point that’s pretty much all you see there now. Her new area doesn’t put up with that crap and limits it.
If you let them get established in an area, they will do everything in their power to oppress and control it. That is certainty.
Looks to me as though Merkel really REALLY hates Putin and wants to break Russia’s influence in the Middle East.
The interesting thing to me in all of this is that the refugees are mostly able bodied young men, not women and children. Another interesting fact is that as groups of people go, they number in the tens of thousands, not millions like what we are dealing with, and still there is talk about how the United States should take in a majority of these folks!
What can Europe do?
Turn them away? Sink their ships? Commit genocide?
Is there an easy answer?
If Europeans want to stay Europeans then they better come up with an answer. Quick.
The refugees will all become good German citizens and everyone will live happily ever after.

For starters, make their lazy asses work for a living, even if it’s picking up trash or sweeping streets. They don’t make them do anything while they’re on a full dole.
Or, ignore the hell out of them and keep them out. You don’t see their sorry asses flocking to Russia, do you?

My understanding is that Germany has an excellent vocational/technical training system that helps those who don’t have the IQ or educational background to meet university level standards.
Why do they have to go to universities? What about training to learn a trade?

Yes, it was a good movie, but these Muslims aren’t the kind that would endure rigorous high standard training. They are nothing but animals raised in an animalistic world and fed Islamic dogma and lies to the point they are nothing but vicious time bombs.
It's an attempt to get them to assimilate.
If you've committed to let them into your country in the first place (!) you have to teach them the language, job skills, get them interacting with native Germans in a positive way.
You don't want them trapped into an enclave/ghetto/no-go area ... a festering sore that will eventually kill your country...
Collective guilt causes country wide insanity.
