It was a sausage fest.
Almost all of the Ashley Madison female profiles were faked.
Only 12,000 of the 5.5 million women listed at the site were real.
It was all faked.
Gizmodo reported:
When hacker group Impact Team released the Ashley Madison data, they asserted that thousands of the womens profiles were fake. Later, this number got blown up in news storiesthat asserted 90-95% of them were fake, though nobody put forth any evidence for such an enormous number. So I downloaded the data and analyzed it to find out how many actual women were using Ashley Madison, and who they were.
What I discovered was that the world of Ashley Madison was a far more dystopian place than anyone had realized. This isnt a debauched wonderland of men cheating on their wives. It isnt even a sadscape of 31 million men competing to attract those 5.5 million women in the database. Instead, its like a science fictional future where every woman on Earth is dead, and some Dilbert-like engineer has replaced them with badly-designed robots.
Those millions of Ashley Madison men were paying to hook up with women who appeared to have created profiles and then simply disappeared. Were they cobbled together by bots and bored admins, or just user debris? Whatever the answer, the more I examined those 5.5 million female profiles, the more obvious it became that none of them had ever talked to men on the site, or even used the site at all after creating a profile. Actually, scratch that. As Ill explain below, theres a good chance that about 12,000 of the profiles out of millions belonged to actual, real women who were active users of Ashley Madison.
When you look at the evidence, its hard to deny that the overwhelming majority of men using Ashley Madison werent having affairs. They were paying for a fantasy.
Not at all surprising.Serves them right.
Have to be the biggest losers in the country these men who had to go to a website and pay to cheat on their women.
Scum
Peggy?
LMAO. Maybe we’ve got more than a few frauds like that here on FreeRepublic, but I don’t think there are too many folks here who use this site to cheat on their spouses.
“...weve got more than a few frauds like that here on FreeRepublic...”
Darn! No wonder I’ve never been able to hook up with any women on this site!
Big class action RICO suit for treble damages in the offing!
As part of the eventual settlement, the lawyers will, as always, walk away with millions and millions of dollars.
Meanwhile, the duped members of the “class” will probably get something like discount coupons for listings in the “personals” section at Craig’s List. Or maybe free drinks at one or more legal brothels in Nevada.
Not something I care deeply about ... but I just noticed reading that headline ... that I haven’t read any of the cheating women’s names ... is that just because there are far fewer of them / women aren’t as stupid as men when it comes to exposing themselves, no pun intended, as cheaters ... hence the pool of likely interesting names is empty?
Just curious ...
I saw they had a world map of the genders of the people on their site. The majority of the woman were from India. At the time I assumed it was a lot of woman in arranged marriages that were not happy with their marriages. But now it is obvious that Ashley Madison only hired out a bunch of Indian workers at a dollar an hour to create these fake profiles, LOL!
Pretend to be a green-eyed blonde? Wouldn’t be very “classy.” :)
Surprise...the whole website is a fraud!
[Yes I know, but follicle fit]
It might be because the data dump was edited.
Millions of men, many divorces, something was going on.
Why would a woman (unless she looks like Rosie O’Donnel) ever need to go to a website to find sex anyway? Unless a woman is unbelievably hideously ugly, all she has to do is go out alone, and within 5 minutes she will have many men talking to her.
so. very rough math.
350 million people in this country.
say half are men - 175 million.
half of those are in the age bracket to use ashley madison - 88 million.
31 out 88 million - almost 40% ??
For the most part hookers are not interesting people.
LOL. A piece of FR history, eh?
They are cheaters and they got cheated.
rofl
That makes this even more pathetic
Yep - I'll buy that (the explanation, not the hookers)
