Porn: America’s Silent Killer
Barb Wire ^ | 8/18/2015 | Joel Hesch

Although it’s the least discussed media topic, porn is systematically infiltrating and killing America (and statistically your family too!).

Few realize just how large a role porn or other forms of sex addiction plays in the breakdown of families. In this digital age, porn isn’t just instantly accessible, it’s the silent killer of families. Porn addiction leaves countless men and women desperate and unaware of where to turn for help. This silent enemy leaves families broken in a wake of despair and destruction after the fall of fathers and husbands. The results are a lineage of addiction and infidelity passed down to innocent children.

Let’s get real for a moment. Porn is the topic no political party or media wants to talk about, but it’s silently killing America one family at a time, possibly even yours.

Porn is a gateway drug that causes ordinary men (and women) to do abnormal things. Our nationwide survey reveals that two-thirds of men view porn at least monthly. This same rate of men risk losing their jobs by looking at porn at work – with one in three expected to get fired due to viewing porn on company time. Even more won’t be able to find a job requiring a polygraph exam because they will have to admit to having viewed deviant sexual videos, such as sex with minors. One-third of men will also take their porn driven fantasy to the real world by having an extramarital affair. We won’t even discuss how porn is the fuel that spurs rape because it conditions men to view women simply as objects of sexual pleasure.

We are quickly losing this next generation to porn and dooming them to divorce, affairs, and hiding in isolation and shame as they can’t stop the cycle of repeatedly turning to the sanctuary of porn driven sexual fantasies that no real person can measure up to. The destruction of porn begins early because 78% of boys are exposed to porn before they are even old enough to drive. More than 4 in 10 men under the age of thirty think they may be addicted to porn, but have no idea where to turn for help because it remains the topic no one will discuss.

Why won’t the media address porn? Certainly the mainstream media is deathly afraid of offending this generation’s outspoken guardians of sexual revolution that anything with anyone goes. Movies spiced with sex sells and porn is the biggest money maker on the Internet. Don’t rock that boat.

But I believe that there is a deeper issue. America has lost it moral compass because we don’t feel we can suggest that looking at porn can be unhealthy because we have tasted the forbidden fruit. We don’t want fingers pointed back at us. We are deathly afraid of being asked if we have viewed porn ourselves. In fact, our survey shows that 97% of all men admit that they have viewed porn (the other 3% likely lied), and most men and a growing number of women sneak a peek at porn at least monthly.

But if we keep caring more about protecting our dirty little secrets, we will keep reaping what we sow. Today, 79% of our young men are already turning to porn every month. This is enhanced by parents happily giving them smart phones without teaching them about the dangers of porn right at their fingertips. We can’t keep letting Hollywood and the porn industry form your child’s worldview and expectations about sex. It’s not a pretty picture. Addictions, divorce and marital dissatisfaction are at all-time highs.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a finger pointer. I am a former sex addict myself. It nearly cost me everything. I’m not even on a warpath or crusade to outlaw porn. Rather, my mission in life is to help those who want help breaking and remaining free from the false forms of intimacy produced by porn and unbridled sexual fantasy

Porn may be here to stay, but that doesn’t mean it should remain hidden under the covers. It also doesn’t mean we don’t warn of the true dangers and harm it can and often does produce. What America needs right now is true freedom to talk about porn and the fantasies it produces that leads to untamed sexual desires where anything with anyone goes. It must begin with open and honest dialog. Let’s not doom our next generation to addiction through silence or ignorance.

It’s time to stop ignoring porn as a topic. It’s time to take back America from the grip of porn addiction, one family at a time. It begins with you taking a stand in your own home, with open discussions as a family. You may even need help breaking free yourself; but seeking help is better than hiding in shame as your family implodes around you.

As more and more of us admit that there’s a real problem with porn, we can start restoring America, and maybe, just maybe, the media and political leaders will wake up along with us.

Pornography is a Trojan Horse sin, because it opens the door to many other sexual sins.

Like dancing.

Love is selfless and all human beings need Love (true Love)——the Christian ideal is being erased-—and porn reduces people to objects to be used and discarded. It normalizes evil ways to “see” the other and self. It is degrading and dehumanizing-—reduces male/female to sexual objects to be used and discarded....it normalizes that attitude and makes sex meaningless.

This whole porn culture (much like the homosexual Weimar Republic) makes people cynical, and without the ability to trust. It is superficial and dehumanizing——removes Mind/Soul from body.

Males/Females who are true Christians would sacrifice for their spouse and children always. Selfish, unloving people are evil.

I will say controlling sex is a go-to for women who want to control the relationship, and sometimes the guy will demonstrate “I don’t need you anyway” by turning to porn and not hiding it. Then it can be a tug of war ending up each getting too comfortable living on opposite sides of the wire.

Or at least that’s the story the women told you.

No the men freely admit it.

“Men have figured out the game, and are no longer playing”

You’re so right about that. However, women too have stopped “playing” as you describe it. They no longer have to depend on men.

That’s why there are no homes for America’s children anymore. There are no more men for them to look up to as a father and a role model. The women who used to take pride in homemaking in every sense of the word now lie to themselves as they trundle their kids off to daycare or school every day and then rush to their real job. There are no more men to make it possible for them to be what they were created to be. It was women’s choice to become something other than what their divine calling equips them to be. Now they wonder why they just don’t feel “fulfilled.”

Yes, men and women have “stopped playing the game”. Now, the sex urge that brings them together is a means to an end, which is just sexual, nothing more. No marriage, no home, no mother or father figure, no stability, no roots, and no dependable knowledge of ancestry is going to be the legacy for the majority of today’s children. Soon, one could be having sex with a sibling or even a parent and have no way of knowing it.

If one leaves out the moral implications for society in general, the real genetic results of such depravity will be unthinkable.

Eventually, technology will allow for a full blown, on-demand sex simulation, which will be indistinguishable from the real thing. When that happens, watch out. Could conceivable lead to the extinction of the human race.

OK, I'm just gonna jump in, head first. (no pun intended) We can't defeat ISIS if Obama won't say "radical Islamic terrorists"..we can't counter porn if we can't talk openly about it.

1.Practically all porn features sexual acts that the vast majority of people will not do....hence the "fantasy element" involved.

2. As there are only so many orifices and people that can be "interconnected" porn is thus evolving to become more extreme, more deviant. It has to, in order to survive..otherwise, people become, well, bored. And that's what's scary today. Where does it stop?

But how do you stop the distribution without violating constitutional freedoms. We've outlawed drugs...that hasn't stopped people from using them. Porn is a drug..and a free on at that.

Lastly, I have one question. As has been pointed out here..the amount of FREE porn on the net is staggering. But how do they make $$$? What pays the bills? If it's free..who's gonna pay anything? So why is it then exploding?

Be interesting to see who funds the porn on the web. Might explain a lot.

In Japan, men and masculinity in general have been beaten down to the point that males have quit even trying to win a woman's favor, prefering hypersexualized cartoon images of teenyboppers for chrissakes. This is the result of a multi generational trend which is now occurring here, only through a western filter.

Remember the old saw "When men were men and women loved them"? Sorry, that's been rendered non operative by the left for decades, and generations, now.

I have no data on which to base this, just my observation, but I think the drop in the divorce rate might also be because of porn - and not in a good way. A lot of young people are just not getting married. Much easier to find gratification via porn and also easier for men to find women willing to have sex outside of marriage.

That means that the smaller number of people who do get married are much likelier to be committed.

JMO.

Bigg Red, you have hit the nail on the head.

You reap what you sow. If a many marries primarily in order to have access to sex, he should not be surprised that his wife married primarily to have access to money. Neither one is a particularly admirable motivation. But at least it was workable in the past where women were dependent on men for financial support to raise their children. The tradeoff was fairly equitable.

Now that women have expanded opportunities in the workplace, they are less dependent on a husband for money. Now that men have expanded opportunities for porn, casual sex, and other gratification, they are less dependent on a wife for sex. Couples should think carefully and discuss what it is they expect from a marriage and from each other. Few people will honestly admit what it is, even to themselves.

Agree. People get squirmy, snarky or embarrassed.

1.Practically all porn features sexual acts that the vast majority of people will not do....hence the “fantasy element” involved..
_______________

I think that this is true, but there is also the easy element. Easier to masturbate than initiate and complete a live physical encounter.

2. As there are only so many orifices and people that can be “interconnected” porn is thus evolving to become more extreme, more deviant. It has to, in order to survive..otherwise, people become, well, bored. And that’s what’s scary today. Where does it stop?

I am not sure it is going to stop if permitted to continue. Snuff films are old hat and a horrific sexual exciter to a certain deviant group. There are sexual perversities out there in porn land one can not really imagine. Human depravity know no bounds, frankly.

But how do you stop the distribution without violating constitutional freedoms. We’ve outlawed drugs...that hasn’t stopped people from using them. Porn is a drug..and a free on at that.
____________________________

There always has been porn and there will always be porn, but marginalizing it at very fringes of society would help considerably.

Porn is actually mainstream among certain groups and interestingly one can walk into their houses and find porn on the screen with children present. Many teenage girls watch porn with their boyfriends and if you look at most of the teen girl fb pages they pose in porn star positions. It is accepted among many younger people as being the norm. When there is no moral value system, people have no moral governors.

Lastly, I have one question. As has been pointed out here..the amount of FREE porn on the net is staggering. But how do they make $$$? What pays the bills? If it’s free..who’s gonna pay anything? So why is it then exploding?

America has lost it moral compass because we don’t feel we can suggest that looking at porn can be unhealthy because we have tasted the forbidden fruit.

We don't "taste" it; we get it shoved into our mouths in the form of advertising. Effectively, porn is force-fed.

Please help me make sure I got this straight. You have had men tell you that they would prefer to masturbate to porn than have sex with their wives, even when the wife was ready and willing? As opposed to using porn when she has one of her headaches?
