Im trying to tell the freshly minted pol that Megyn Kelly had the right to ask him a question in the debate on how he talks about women, and that she should be tough on the front-runner.
Hes not buying it. In fact, in his stubborn I win, you lose way, he has an assistant come over to hand me a printout of Gabriel Shermans New York magazine piece headlined How Roger Ailes Picked Trump, and Fox News Audience, Over Megyn Kelly. But the 69-year-old is trying hard not to bare his claws at any women right now. His wife, Melania, and his daughter Ivanka have told him they dont want him to come across as a misogynist when they dont see him that way.looks to him?
He said he has found looks can hold you back, that some of the great looking men and women, theyve never had a problem getting a date, theyve never had a problem in life, now they get into a world which is a cruel place and they dont fight as hard.
I ask Trump if he can at least admit that President Obama was born in this country.
The Grumpy Cat face comes back. No comment, he murmurs.

Not a bad article...
Hitlery started the whole birth certificate thing. Have you aksed her if she can admit it?
Obama was never constitutionally qualified.
Dowd is worthless.
Mike Douglas said that too.
Go make me a sammich, Maureen!
Ivanka should be stumping for him, she’s really smart.
I realize now that the dumpy red-head he was having lunch with on Thursday at Trump Tower was Maureen Dowd. I just knew it was a reporter but her back was, of course, to the wall, while Trump faced outward into the atrium. And those were not necessarily “fans” hanging out - those were tourists, some from France and Texas, who were very curious about him.
I forgot about her. NOw that i remember her i want to get back to forgetting about her.
I’m sure Hillary will get a debate question about how rude she reportedly has been to Secret Service and military personnel since she and Slick got into the White House in 1993. Right Maureen?
That’s why many were so outraged at the insertion of such a question in a Republican debate. It will never happen to a Dim. And that sort of personal attack does not belong in a debate, but in a news item where real evidence is presented rather than a drive-by hit job during a debate.
The Donald! He has all the right enemies!
Anyone who quotes/reveres Dowd should register as a Democrat and donate time and money to the DNC.
However, I hate arguments of the "So-and-so had a right to blah-blah-blah," sort. Either the speaker is not very intelligent and actually believes a legal or moral right is in dispute, or the speaker wants to cut off discussion of whether the "right" was exercised in an appropriate or useful way.
For a change...
I did laugh at her description of Trump’s “grumpy cat” face. True, that.
Media throwing itself on the floor pounding it and screaming, “Why won’t he behave like the rest of the Republicans? Doesn’t he know who we are?” Yes he does and that is why he will not fold to you.
Considering this is from Maureen Dowd, I can leave it....nothing here exciting to read...
