Two teens were shot to death and at least 13 other people, including a 12-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

The most recent shooting was a homicide that happened about 4:10 a.m. Saturday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, and the boy killed was the seventh person shot in that area in the West Garfield Park and Lawndale neighborhoods on the West Side.

So 2 out of 15 shot died. That rule of thumb I heard a doc state several years ago seems to be holding. He said funny as it sounds, 6 out of 7 people shot with handguns survive.

He wasn't much of a fan of caliber wars - didn't seem to matter from his viewpoint treating the patients. That may be as far as ultimately surviving... But we can still argue about "stopping power" and the ability (or lack thereof) to take someone out of the fight with only one or two rounds. ;-)

A couple of BIG dogs, (Dobermans, Shepherds, Rottweilers) will alert the owners AND protect the house. NO burglar or home invader will come NEAR the house then THOSE guys are around.
