Freepers Openly Supporting Liberal Democrats - Alison Lundergan Grimes
Free Republic ^ | June 26, 2014 | Salf/Vanity

I never thought I would see the day when there were participants in this forum openly advocating voting for a liberal Democrat.

Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes.

This makes no sense unless one is a liberal or leftist anti-American or are unable to move beyond emotion and irrationality or a nihilist mind set that lets anger, fear, lack of faith and hatred dominate one's logical faculties.

Alison Lundergan Grimes was born in 1978. That's the year I graduated High school. Many here are older than I, and in politics, at 53 I am not all that old.

This liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, is 36 years old. She is a baby in politics.

If she wins this seat now she will be in the Senate for 40 years.

By contrast, McConnell is an old man who will be gone after this term.

Those supporting the liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, for Senate are going to simply make possible another Feinstein, or Boxer or any such left wing corrupt Marxist-thinking Senator with a Seat-For-Life.

Setting up a permanent seat in the Senate for a liberal leftist Democrat in a state where it is possible to avoid this plague, is not a good idea.

It may feel good emotionally to see the reprehensible, Mitch-I-want-to-punch-the-Tea-Party-in-the-nose McConnell lose, but the negative consequences are greater than the fleeting enjoyment of seeing McConnell lose.

I figure they have it and we can not count on getting it back.

If we cannot count on getting it back, then what difference does it make if we throw McConnell overboard?

Perhaps McConnell himself is the reason we're not able to get it back?

Now lately I’ve noticed a lot of posters with 2012 sign up dates posting some screwy stuff. Was that a strange year for members or something?

Yes — conservative people pushing Romney for president… it doesn't get much stranger.

Exactly.

Saying we can’t count on it is not the same as saying it will not or cannot happen.

Sometimes you just have to realize “what difference does it make?” If Allison goes to the senate she will vote for Amnesty if Mitch goes he will vote for amnesty.

There are a lot more issues than amnesty.

And, of the two, it is more likely McConnell could be pressured in to not voting for it, or more likely putting it off.

66 senators into voting for removal Senators who will then promptly vote for their party, regardless of evidence.

“In the case of McConnell? Also DO NOT VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT!”

I agree with you 100%. There is no point for the GOOD people of Kentucky
to vote for either Dictator McConnell or Grimes

“There are a lot more issues than amnesty”

You mean like the debt ceiling?

Allison will vote to raise the debt ceiling and so will Mitch.

Futile under Miss. law. Write-in votes won’t count unless Cochran dies or withdraws before election day.

So you're saying there's a chance. I'll keep up hope I guess.

Not if public pressure is enough. The Senators will be concerned foremost about their seats.

"If she wins this seat now she will be in the Senate for 40 years."

Hyperbole much ? If Mitch loses, he only has himself to blame.

Why run a democrat as a republican?

I dunno, but the GOP's done it for the last two presidential candidates.

I left the GOP plantation during W’s second term. These days I mostly only vote for conservatives, I will make an exception if the candidate strongly opposes illegal immigration. So the only way to get my vote in a federal election is to be conservative or to campaign against amnesty for illegals. Happily here in Texas there are lots of good conservatives to vote for.

No one who understands the Buckley Rule could ever agree with your silly assessment.

Strangely I have proof and you don't.

Bob Dole for President! Woo! Woo!

John McCain for President! Woo! Woo!

Mitt Romney for President! Woo! Woo!

And coming soon

Runt Paul for President! Woo! Woo!
