Freepers Openly Supporting Liberal Democrats - Alison Lundergan Grimes
Free Republic ^ | June 26, 2014 | Salf/Vanity

Posted on 06/26/2014 10:01:59 AM PDT by ifinnegan

I never thought I would see the day when there were participants in this forum openly advocating voting for a liberal Democrat.

Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes.

This makes no sense unless one is a liberal or leftist anti-American or are unable to move beyond emotion and irrationality or a nihilist mind set that lets anger, fear, lack of faith and hatred dominate one's logical faculties.

Alison Lundergan Grimes was born in 1978. That's the year I graduated High school. Many here are older than I, and in politics, at 53 I am not all that old.

This liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, is 36 years old. She is a baby in politics.

If she wins this seat now she will be in the Senate for 40 years.

By contrast, McConnell is an old man who will be gone after this term.

Those supporting the liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, for Senate are going to simply make possible another Feinstein, or Boxer or any such left wing corrupt Marxist-thinking Senator with a Seat-For-Life.

Setting up a permanent seat in the Senate for a liberal leftist Democrat in a state where it is possible to avoid this plague, is not a good idea.

It may feel good emotionally to see the reprehensible, Mitch-I-want-to-punch-the-Tea-Party-in-the-nose McConnell lose, but the negative consequences are greater than the fleeting enjoyment of seeing McConnell lose.

boner has done jack with the power he’s had. he’s got the damn purse strings and he’s caved b/c he can’t figure out how to deal with alinsky-style pressure. he won’t use the same tactics where dems are vulnerable, or get others to do their own attacks. no strategies. he thinks the biggest problem is the damn tea party folks.

keeping the same leadership is just as assinine. they aren’t gonna do what we want if they get more power. they want to crush us. they’ve friggin said so. cantor and thad adopted alinsky smear tactics against tea party challengers. we aren’t gonna reward these people with more power. you apologists would just say stop picking on fellow repubs, it’s not helpful.

forget that.

No, thank you. No one could not pay me to vote for Grimes.

I detest the liberal republican though I would not vote for a liberal democrat who will walk in line as Hillary does for Her Party!

I believe it was McConnell who led the way to bring the lawsuit which the SC ruled on today

If true, then so what? That was a no-brainer. It would have been expected by any minority leader in the Senate.

McConnell would have been ousted had he NOT done that.

He gets no points from me for doing the absolutely bare minimum that is expected from his leadership position.

Obamacare passed without a single Republican vote. McConnell deserves a lot of credit for that,

Maybe he also deserves the credit for letting his party invoke cloture without which ObamaCare would have never became law.

With that strategy the Republic will be long gone before then.

The Republic is already gone, so what is your point?

Mcromney.....

there were and still are scores of supporters of both of them on this forum....

but, just mention being opposed to the war on drugs, and you find all of them in a hurry..

these people are not conservative, they are republicans..

The libtards use the judiciary as a weapon.

The Supreme Court refused to declare DOMA unconstitutional but they stand by while federal Judges continue to rule DOMA unconstitutional in state after state.

You get twice the voting power by voting for Grimes a non vote or third party vote only counts once.

To vote for someone is to give assent to his/her views and stated policies. To vote for Grimes is to be no better than the progressives and socialists who will vote for Grimes.

If you want to stand with someone who is not on the ballot, write in the name of the person. If you cannot stand with anyone, or if the election laws do not allow write-ins, withhold your vote. But don't vote for an enemy of American founding principles, simply because you find the other option undesirable.

I’m quite aware of that. However, I don’t think What’s up is aware of that.

I didn't say you NEEDED a court's approval.

I said the expanded discovery will help amass evidence for a possible impeachment. You need as much evidence as you can to convince the public or conviction will fail. It's a smart move.

I would suggesting finding a conservative 3rd party candidate on the ballot (there almost always is one) and voting for them instead. If there is not a 3rd party conservative then either skip that race or do a write in.

If the election's at all close, that's the same as voting for Half-his-age. You're just deceiving yourself that you voted to uphold principle or something.

Mitch declared war on Tea Party conservatives and said he would crush them thru out the country. I do not expect many TP Conservatives to be voting Mitch in Nov. It’s not smart to reward your enemy with your vote, not smart at all.

What's not smart at all is to keep Dingy Harry as Majority Leader so that he can help Obama poison the Supreme Court for a generation to come. That's why you should still vote for McConnell!

If true, then so what?

It rebuts the earlier poster's argument that McConnell has done NOTHING.

Today's decision show that that is not true.

I don’t think you understand what’s up.

No court will hear this case.
It is a political stunt by Bonehead.

Bonehead has the power NOW to investigate all these issues you
think provides evidence for impeachment.

It is because the House already has the power to investigate
that no court will hear this case.

It is simply a stunt Bonehead is using so he does not have to do anything.
And it is intended to suck in people like you, to make believe he is doing something. You are being played, but you do not realize it.

Sorry for the vulgarity — to be completely honest, I’m tired of “the lesser of two evils” crap, I find it offensive in the extreme, especially when coupled with the “you voted for Obama”-crap that some here spout-off when someone says they voted third-party in 2012. I’m tired of being pissed on by the Republican elite and being told to shut up and enjoy the rain by my fellows.

Yes, all of this makes me very angry.
I would say that if it doesn’t make you angry you have little to no self-worth, nor do you have a sense of justice to be outraged.

“While I won’t vote for Grimes, I won’t vote for McConnell either.”

That’s what I’m doing in Mississippi, I’ve always sucked it up before and usually ended up contributing to and working to influence votes for the primary winner but not this time.
