What the Heck… Karl Rove Warns Republicans to Stop Attacking Obamacare?
wizbangblog.com ^ | 3/21/14

By nearly every metric, Democrats are finding that Obamacare is a millstone around their necks for the upcoming 2014 midterm elections. Yet so-called Republican Karl Rove is telling the GOP to stop attacking Obamacare? What is he thinking?

Yet, even as Rove says Republicans shouldn’t Attack Obamacare, elections statistician Larry Sabato Says Obamacare is killing Democrats. What is Karl Rove thinking by telling Republicans not to attack Obamacare very hard while Larry Sabato is saying the Dems are extremely vulnerable on Obamacare?

Rove made his comments in a new Wall Street Journal piece.

“The only thing that could rescue Democrats is for Republican candidates to appear as advocates for the pre-ObamaCare status quo. Hopefully, there’s not much of a chance of that.”

On the other hand, Larry Sabato said this:

“The problem that is, when you are on the offense, using your time in the public arena, to discuss a subject that people have more or less already made up their minds about and don’t like it, you’re wasting your time in the arena,” he said.

Sabato also pointed out the minority of the public that does favor Obamacare is not very enthusiastic about it, a possible recipe for disaster in midterm elections.

“But the majority who oppose Obamacare are much more charged up, and they’re the people who tend to turn up in a low turnout midterm election.”

Is Rove trying to say the GOP should work to keep Obamacare and just tinker on the edges of it thereby taking a great issue away from GOP candidates?

Why would he be saying this when it is clear that Obamacre is a major stumbling block for Democrats going into this election?

Maybe we are seeing that Karl Rove is a lover of big government after all?

Karl (The Architect) Rove is one of the most brilliant marketing people this country has ever produced. No one knows how the heck he does it.

With Billion-dollar budgets, he manages to lose elections that candidates would have otherwise won. He produces TV commercials that would be rejected by the sleaziest "Buy Here-Pay Her" Used Car lot manager. He has them made by Democrat controlled ad agencies who tip off the DNC to Republican Plans.

I asure you fine ladies that if any industrial ad manager spent this kind of money and achieved Karl's kind of results, he would be immediately canned, but not before hours of water torture to make sure he wasn't working for the competition.

Ah, but this is where the "genius" part comes in. You see, despite massive failures and chronic underachievement, Karl keeps signing up the RNC and a host of big budget RINOs. No one in the Bush family will even take a restroom break without his permission. Mitch McConnell will not choose a tie. Orrin Hatch will not take another wife.

This ineffectual assKlown has Klout. Now that, that is genius. He aways gets terrific results .... but only for Karl.

Despite anecdotes, it is gaining popularity.

Nonsense. If Obamacare was gaining in popularity then people would be signing up, the press would be finding and touting "success" stories, and the problems would be decreasing, not increasing. More telling, you wouldn't have Nancy Pelosi out there screaming that it shouldn't be called "Obamacare" and you wouldn't have the President hulking it like a two-bit salesman.

Karl Rove is like all the other stupid Republicates that get out in front of audiences and wasted everyone's time by stating Republicans need to have a clearer message when, in fact, they could be telling them the message. They have no ideas.

Carl Rove is a self serving GOPe facilitator. He flits from one candidate to another, from one PAC to another, while like a vacuum cleaner, sucking up millions in fees.

Rove is the PR agency for the GOPe mob.

Does anybody still listen to what Karl Rove has to say. Haven’t you caught on the to fact that all he does is controversial talk to keep his name going? Don’t believe me, just watch and keep a mental record of the dumb things he comes up with. Nobody is holding him accountable, so he just rambles on.

“Republicans should be talking about all of Obama’s failures: jobs, obamacare, pipeline delay, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, various foreign policy failures, Al Quaeda resurgance, NSA, debt, loss of middle class, etc.”

Absolutely: every time they can get face time with the media. the problem is who will report their talking points except for conservative media?

Kind of a false dilemma Karl. We could talk about all of it - including Obamacare.

I always thought Rove deserves what happened to Jimmy Hart in this Memphis wrestling episode.

Karl was great in the GOTV and analysis in times past. I think he has totally lost it in this new age of Political Strategy.

Obamacare is an example of increased government intrusion and how poorly government handles implementation of programs. Let Obama run on equality... let the GOP point out the inequality of Obamacare’s implementation and those who have received special treatment based on being politically connected. Pointing out that Unions, who pushed Obamacare no longer want to abide by it.

So, while the economy is the number one issue, the economy of Obamacare is a perfect issue to run on. Karl needs to go fishing...
