Now we know why Rand Paul has endorsed Mitch McConnell (Vanity)
March 18, 2014 | Din Maker

I just found out some information today that enlightened me as to why Rand Paul has endorsed Mitch McConnell. McConnell's Campaign Manger, Jesse Benton, is part of the Paul family. He is married to Ron Paul's grand daughter and Rand Paul's niece. I wonder if Mitch hiring Rand's nephew-in-law was part of the deal for Rand's endorsement? This is what Benton told the Huffington Post:

"I believe in Senator McConnell and am 100 percent committed to his re-election. Being selected to lead his campaign is one of the great honors of my life and I look forward to victory in November of 2014."

Well, that answers a lot of questions.

Rand Paul endorsed Mitch McConnell because it looks like Mitch McConnell is going to be nominated, and endorsing the inevitable nominee is what you do if you want to be a playa.

First of all, it’s a long time until November and NOTHING is inevitable at this point. Mitch could die in his sleep or get hit by a train; who knows? It would be best to not endorse at all than to tarnish your reputation and flush your integrity down the toilet. Some of us feel like one’s integrity is worth preserving even if they can’t be a “playa”. The name, Ted Cruz comes to mind.

Criminologists say it’s “inevitable” that child molesters will commit their crime again. So, according to your logic, we should all just look the other way when it comes to child molestation; even if we don’t wanna be a playa, we just let it go, because it’s “inevitable” and hell, we all just wanna get along. BULLSHIT!

To: Jim Noble - That is EXACTLY why we are in the mess we’re in. Almost everybody in Washington, D. C. would rather be a “playa” than a statesman. Thank God for Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.

Oh, I read it.

First: That is not an “article.” It appears to be an editorial blog and that post is dealing in innuendo with a couple of random facts.

Second: You are pointing a finger at a man who runs campaigns for a living then attributing his association with a candidate to the ideological principle’s of Paul as well as throwing in a charge of nepotism.

There are a lot of people who run campaigns for a living. And when you do that you work for a lot of different people. Some of them don’t EXACTLY meet eye to eye with you.

Sometimes you have an in-law whose politics diverge EVER-SO-SLIGHTLY from your own.

What, exactly, is your charge against Paul? That his nieces’ husband guides his politics? Or is it that Paul engages in nepotism for familial gain?

Nepotism is part of the GOPe’s and the ruling elite’s modus operandi.

I don’t think you’re wrong in why Rand is supporting McConnell. I’m just not convinced that McConnell will really win.

Bottom Line? He has become part of the Establishment rather quickly. I can live with his convictions re: Immigration policies, etc. But, I have a hard time accepting the fact that he will get into bed with whomever he thinks can advance his political ambitions. When he endorsed Mitch McConnell, instead of staying neutral in a home state GOP Primary, like Ted Cruz did, then I realized: Rand Paul is just another political whore.

Nice alibi, anyway.
