WASHINGTON – Rep. Henry A. Waxman, whose legislative record has made him one of the country’s most influential liberal lawmakers for four decades, announced Thursday that he will retire from his Westside seat, the latest in a wave of departures that is remaking the state’s long-stable congressional delegation.

Could be. If so it’s worse than I imagined, rather than dealing with greedy, power mad bastiches we’re up against True Believers.

Every one a spiritual cousin to a suicide bomber.

I think you, and a few others, are saying they (dems) are jumping ship before the Democrat ship sinks. If not, please tell me what you mean. I am concerned that the republicans will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The democrats are much more adept at vicious politics than the pubes. I know the unaffordable health care act is a disaster of unprecedented proportions made totally by the stupidity of the democrats, but the democrats have moved the country into the age of dependence expectations, the highest level of achievement of mediocrity, and public feeding at the trough of the minority productive apportionment of society. The parasite has fastened hold to the host's bowel and its hooks are set deeply into the bowels. To dislodge the parasite requires a poisonous medication which will make the host sick. The dems do not believe the republicans and the producers of the country can redefine political correctness in a short interim period and then redirect the country to the tracts of increased production, incentive to work, and decent goverence….that is, short of a real and dangerous economic upheaval. Those of us who are producers are deemed politically UNcorrect and are the problem. All one has to do is look at the "conservative" (sarc. republicans) response to the amnesty train barreling down the track. Then have already surrendered. They are saying Obamacare cannot be repealed (I heard McConnel say it just last night). Other than Mike Lee, Cruz, Rand, who has a set of minerals big enough to tell the truth, ….and when they do they are viciously vilified. Sarah Palin, a nice woman with middle American values, has been so viciously attacked that they even went so far as to say her baby should have been aborted……that is to say, her baby should have been killed…..all because Palin has the nerve to tell the truth. The values in the country is up-side-down. Insanity (repeating the same mistake expecting a different result) is now the coin of the realm. Those of us who think it is wrong to kill, steal, lie, offend God,…..we are all considered anachronistic. To say it is immoral to have a man lay down with a man, twenty years ago was the norm….today if you say such a thing you are intolerant ands judgmental……and those things, once you are so judged, will not be tolerated.

So……do you really think Waxman is getting out because decency will reign over immorality? Waxman has spent his life in immorality and sexual perversion. And now, only NOW, he sees a tsunami approaching.

I do not have such optimism, short of divine intervention. Please tell me I am wrong in my assessment. I actually would like to be wrong….but I am not.

Very interesting article you linked to. There are other reasons I believe Islam is the prophesized "Whore of Babylon". The following is from an Orthodox wiki site. I trust in St. John of Damascus ( John Damascene ) as the last of the Patristic Fathers and holds a place of high honor in the universal Christian faith.

Islam is a heresy, according to Saint John of Damascus in his "Critique of Islam":

"There is also the superstition of the Ishmaelites which to this day prevails and keeps people in error, being a forerunner of the Antichrist. They are descended from Ishmael, who was born to Abraham of Agar, and for this reason they are called both Agarenes and Ishmaelites. They are also called Saracens, which is derived from Sarras kenoi, or destitute of Sara, because of what Agar said to the angel: 'Sara hath sent me away destitute.' These used to be idolaters and worshiped the morning star and Aphrodite, whom in their own language they called Khabár, which means great. And so down to the time of Heraclius they were very great idolaters. From that time to the present a false prophet named Mohammed has appeared in their midst. This man, after having chanced upon the Old and New Testaments and likewise, it seems, having conversed with an Arian monk, devised his own heresy. Then, having insinuated himself into the good graces of the people by a show of seeming piety, he gave out that a certain book had been sent down to him from heaven. He had set down some ridiculous compositions in this book of his and he gave it to them as an object of veneration."

Muslims believe the following...

Arius, the bishop from Egypt, like many of the early Christians, believed in God as One and Jesus, peace be upon him, as one subservient to God. That is to say, in a lessor position than God.

This concept is still held today by more than 1.5 billion Muslims, who adhere to the teachings of the Quran and the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Islam is a bastardization of the Jewish and Christian faiths. The former being made by eternal covenant with God...the latter be fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It makes a prophet out of a false prophet, Muhammad. And I believe their attempt to bring forth the 12th IMAM will be the beginning of the end. Therefore my insight into WHY ISLAM IS THE WHORE OF BABYLON

Henry Waxman is one disgusting piece of human garbage. I hope he crawls back in his hole in California and is never heard or seen again. It would make my day if Nancy would slither back with him.

What's coming? Are you suggesting the Republicans will not aid, abet and support this upcoming this country killing amnesty? Lets hear it.

I can't believe it took this long to hear the truth! The RATs don't care how many of them are felled in 2014. They'll play a delaying game until they can get the 14 million new voter registrations going after amnesty and those new dems will vote in overwhelmingly statist, gun control, welfare state UN apologist liberals to the Congress who will be given enough time to complete the destruction of the nation. That won't take long, either. I pray the Lord RAPTURES me off this ugly world before it happens.

Not a fan of truffles; they taste like concentrated dirt. Pass.

I know in Italy, the truffle hunters get down and dirty over “their” territories.

Oh, and Waxman’s a classic example of the need for partial birth abortion - up to 1000 months in some cases.

A lot of the “long-term” RATs are leaving because they know that in their political lifetimes, they will not be returning to power. And they are allowing the young turks to come in for their next assault wave once the GOPe screws up again, as they always do. Our only “salvation” lies in not only taking RAT seats in The Congress, but also RINOs, because if history is any accurate indicator, the RINOs are only “better” by comparison to the RATs. Just look at how the GOP behaved during the GWB administration. They just settled in and didn’t do anything to “reign in” Bush when he launched these needless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If he had really wanted to strike a blow against terror, he would have invaded Saudi Arabia, because that’s where the 911 terrorists came from.
Insofar as Divine Intervention is concerned, you can’t ask God to intervene unless you’ve done all in your power to extricate yourself from whatever problems you are facing. It’s been 50 years since I had any biblical training, but I seem to remember a passage about “people waxing iniquitous.” Well, my friend, that’s where we are today. Why would God help any group of people who are behaving like the bulk of those who currently inhabit America? There is much that we need to do before asking God for help in my view.
All you have to do to understand where we are today, it to spent a few minutes perusing the articles here on FR each day.

I agree with everything you say, EXCEPT the incongruity of your correct assessment of RINOs being slightly to the right of leftist. Your statement is true, but it is not consistent with reelecting those RiNOS. They are 'go along to get along' politicians who are just as bad as the demons. Where do we get the voters to vote for these RINOS and moreover WHY would be we be better off than if the dens are in office. Unless we move sharply to the right we gain nothing. The progress of progressives may slow slightly, but we still move left. We need strong conservatives and I simply do not see that happening. Even here in my home state, Texas, Cornyn has abandoned conservatism to maintain his oligargic gig. So he is all over the airwaves selling a person who is not him. Once elected, he will revert to a liberal pragmatism and the voting public will throw up their hands and realize nothing has changed.

All other remark you made are spot on.

I think the country is lost to the values of the left, and I do not know how far down their debauchery will take us.

“Your statement is true, but it is not consistent with reelecting those RiNOS. “

I was simply stating a fact, not that we should be re-electing any of them. You say that Cornyn has abandoned conservatism, when I would bet that he was never conservative in the first place. And therein lies one of the problems we conservatives have. When it comes to the GOP, the old biblical reference to “ many there are who draw near to me with their lips. but there hearts they are far from me” applies to politicians as well. Contrast Cornyn with Cruz. Cornyn is a go along to get along jerk, but Cruz is steadfast in his belief system. Conservatives need to do a much better job of vetting candidates so as to avoid inadvertently electing RINOs or worse.

Waxman is one of the most disguisting human beings I’ve ever met. Arrogant, far-left, sanctimonious, and just a plain old Democrat doucebag.

His records on internal security and defense is somewhere in the minus 50%.

His speeches are so boring that I fell asleep during one at a major Mens Clubs organization dinner. Apparently I didn’t miss anything worth hearing.

So BatMan is leaving. Along with Comrade George Miller (D-Calif) and Jim Moron Moran (D-VA), the rats are abandoning ship at the right time. They’ve done all the real damage they could do to America, so now they retire on the taxpayers dime, but I know they will continue to destroy our country whenever and wherever they can.

If there were ever a “Three Stooges” of Congress, this bunch of marxist/egotistical/ignorant coconuts are them.

Or did I just insult three good Americans, Larry, Curly and Moe by comparing them to three shits?

Interesting.

My feeling was they know where their party is headed and they want to leave while they still look good. It seems our takes are very similar.
