A lot of the “long-term” RATs are leaving because they know that in their political lifetimes, they will not be returning to power. And they are allowing the young turks to come in for their next assault wave once the GOPe screws up again, as they always do. Our only “salvation” lies in not only taking RAT seats in The Congress, but also RINOs, because if history is any accurate indicator, the RINOs are only “better” by comparison to the RATs. Just look at how the GOP behaved during the GWB administration. They just settled in and didn’t do anything to “reign in” Bush when he launched these needless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If he had really wanted to strike a blow against terror, he would have invaded Saudi Arabia, because that’s where the 911 terrorists came from.
Insofar as Divine Intervention is concerned, you can’t ask God to intervene unless you’ve done all in your power to extricate yourself from whatever problems you are facing. It’s been 50 years since I had any biblical training, but I seem to remember a passage about “people waxing iniquitous.” Well, my friend, that’s where we are today. Why would God help any group of people who are behaving like the bulk of those who currently inhabit America? There is much that we need to do before asking God for help in my view.
All you have to do to understand where we are today, it to spent a few minutes perusing the articles here on FR each day.

I agree with everything you say, EXCEPT the incongruity of your correct assessment of RINOs being slightly to the right of leftist. Your statement is true, but it is not consistent with reelecting those RiNOS. They are 'go along to get along' politicians who are just as bad as the demons. Where do we get the voters to vote for these RINOS and moreover WHY would be we be better off than if the dens are in office. Unless we move sharply to the right we gain nothing. The progress of progressives may slow slightly, but we still move left. We need strong conservatives and I simply do not see that happening. Even here in my home state, Texas, Cornyn has abandoned conservatism to maintain his oligargic gig. So he is all over the airwaves selling a person who is not him. Once elected, he will revert to a liberal pragmatism and the voting public will throw up their hands and realize nothing has changed.

All other remark you made are spot on.

I think the country is lost to the values of the left, and I do not know how far down their debauchery will take us.
