Alas....I’m right there with you, bud.

Hopefully my son will have delivered (DVD set) Season 6 of BREAKING BAD so I can be watching that on Sunday evening. If not, I’ll be watching “Spartacus: Vengeance”.

I was ambivalent until learning that Pete Carroll was likely a 9-11 troofer.

Like I really needed another reason to dislike him.

I’m a Seattle fan, and even I have started to tire of it. But some of the stuff is interesting. Sherman’s brother is his manager of sorts, so is pretty involved in everything. Also interesting to hear some of the stories of the Denver guys.

E. J. Holub started Superbowl 1 on defense as Linebacker. He started Superbowl 4 on offense as Center. He is the only player to ever do this.

Gadzooks, Star-- And he's not only an Original Dallas Texan... he's a native Texan.

Even after nine knee surgeries, Holub was a leader, a "holler guy", and he was a team player, enduring pain to lead his team. He would spend hours in the training room, watching blood and liquid drain from his knee, then go out to the field and perform as though he was suffering from no physical problem.

The Chiefs/Texans also had a tight end (Fred Arbanas) back then who was sucker punched on the street blinding him in one eye. He made two AFL Allstar games (which are considered as AllPro games) after that. Those boys were rugged.

I forgive Fred for being a Yankee (born January 14, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan)... and for being a Democrat (In 1992 he ran in the Democratic primary against incumbent U.S. Congressman Alan Wheat, but did not win)--

But if he ever... gives up drinking... we split the blanket!

I will be watching the DVD of Gods and Generals... followed by tonight's episode of "Justified" I will be recording on my Tivo.

When I was a teen in the 60’s I used to work for a guy who had a 2000 customer paper route. Fred was one of our customers (lived real close to another customer that was part of the Kansas City mob but that’s a different story). He used to come out and talk to us and was a real nice guy. (Dems back then were almost normal). Later my dad who installed fancy showers worked in his house and noticed his accent was close to my moms’ who was a Yooper. Turns out his wife was from the same town in the upper peninsula where I was born and he had picked up her dialect.

I'm just hoping to get out of DC alive tomorrow I've never seen so
many Muslims in my life

Then I'll worry about the semi-
Super Bowl (No Packers...No Patriots)

When MacKay was at USC there was a coaches’ press breakfast every Monday morning during the season. The LA Times sports section carried a report. The other coaches (Rams, UCLA etc) did about 15 minutes each including questions and MacKay took up to an hour. Everybody wanted to hear him, including the other coaches.

Lazy ESPN experts don’t have their picks in yet.

I am taking Denver, 21-20. Manning will dig deep so his little brother won’t have more rings than him anymore, the ultimate motivation.

What’s the wind forecast? WSJ had an analysis showing Manning has been unsuccessful when winds were 20mph and above.

“Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas won’t be able to give out Super Bowl tickets to two of his biggest fans. Both his mother and grandmother are in prison, his mother in the midst of serving a 20-year sentence and his grandmother a life sentence for cocaine distribution.”

Hell yeah, “Justified” for me too, thank goodness for basic cable.

Maybe I’ll watch the 50 different Republican replies later.

That’s at 9, 10 Eastern though, what’s on at 8, hmm crappy ep of Star Trek on BBC America. I guess I’ll fling my poo at Obama for a while. Blackhawks game starts at 8:30.

I thought it was low temps that got him. I heard mid 30’s at KO and not enough wind to be a factor.

C’mon Peyton, for older brothers everywhere!!!!!

Cold weather effecting games is fine but I don’t like for the SB.

I was originally going with an upset, but with the good weather forecast:

DENVER BRONCOS TO WIN!
