Re: E. J. Holub started Superbowl 1 on defense as Linebacker. He started Superbowl 4 on offense as Center. He is the only player to ever do this.

Even after nine knee surgeries, Holub was a leader, a "holler guy", and he was a team player, enduring pain to lead his team. He would spend hours in the training room, watching blood and liquid drain from his knee, then go out to the field and perform as though he was suffering from no physical problem.

The Chiefs/Texans also had a tight end (Fred Arbanas) back then who was sucker punched on the street blinding him in one eye. He made two AFL Allstar games (which are considered as AllPro games) after that. Those boys were rugged.
