What, charging $10 for 20 ozs. of Froot Loops not a problem? (I exaggerate, but still).
Maybe cut price of a box of cereal to under $10/box
Name-brand breakfast cereals are way over priced. I get the same quality from Aldi at half the price.
I buy off brands at aldi....save a lot of money.
Cereals have gotten really high.
I’ve found the Malt-O-Meal brand in bags at WM is pretty good and a lot cheaper.
Not too many people are willing to pay $6 for a box of artificially colored over processed carbohydrates that rot your teeth.
Wow...one second difference....
Not a lot of demand for expensive high carb / low protein foods nowadays.
Don’t we need to bail out the cereal industry? We need to save Battle Creek.
Wonder how much school being back in session and schools feeding children their breakfast affects their bottom line. We quit buying General Mills products a long time ago and stick with Post or Kellogg. But smaller packages and less product teamed with increased price makes breakfast dishes like oatmeal a lot more affordable than cold cereal. Plus oatmeal is a whole lot healthier IMO.
You nailed the problem. I can get the store brand Corn Flakes for half the price or less sometimes.
Oh, jeez, maybe it’s the shrunken down to 5oz boxes of sugar for $5.
The public has switched to General Mills, since they jumped on ghe pro-gay bandwagon
Coco Pops?
So your’re thinking, “I’d like to give myself a treat, and maybe revisit a fond memory of my childhood at the same time.” You pick up a box, and it is as light as a feather. Then, you look at the price. Really, Kellogg?
smaller boxes, higher prices
the generic stuff in the bags tastes the same
a bowl of hot oatmeal is so much more filling and it warms you in the winter
I think cereals are important for a healthy diet, but yes, they have gotten expensive. A lot of us have had to tighten our belts. It’s either oatmeal or shredded wheat around here.
With just a few exceptions, their stuff is just about identical to the cereals they are emulating.
