President Obama promised the American people that under the Affordable Care Act (sometimes called ObamaCare), If you like your health care plan, you can keep you health care plan, period. He also promised that "the only thing that will change for you under this plan is the amount of money you will spend on premiums. That will be less than you are spending now.
Now that the reality is unfolding, it turns out both those promises have been broken in a way that has impacted many people. The Civitas Institute asked real North Carolinians to share how they have been impacted by the Affordable Care Act. The response was overwhelming: people losing their current coverage, sticker shock from skyrocketing premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses rising dramatically, and workers having their hours cut.
This website is dedicated to telling real stories about real people and the impact of the Affordable Care Act. Be sure to share this site with people you know who wish to be educated about the true impact the Affordable Care Act is having on individuals and families.
And if you have a story about the cost of your insurance, impact on work or some other aspect of the Affordable Care Act --- please share your story using the tab above.

Hoax and Chains. It’s my Steam handle.
There have to be consequences for there to be lessons. For bad decisions the consequences have to be painful and the more painful they are the faster the response and the longer the reaction lasts.
Too bad everyone has to suffer but I can make it a lot longer than most of the idiots who voted for this crap.
Burn baby burn.
There is a happy balance between severity of punishment and mercy.
You veer dangerously close to not just wanting God to chastise but voting with the Satan that God has by the tail and will yank away the moment God sees that the point He wants to make has been made.
We don’t know if all those people voted for Obama. I’m sure many are conservatives. This is just heartbreaking!
I think some pain is just what's needed to wake people up to what's going on here. No more 'head in the sand'.
I hate to admit it, but I'm a conservative, I didn't vote for the guy, and I'm being hurt personally by these policies too. I am now waking up to peel my hand off of the stove now...I hope it's not too late, and there's some skin left.
